Used 2000 Toyota Celica for Sale near Georgia
The Toyota Celica was completely redesigned for 2000. The new Celica was lighter, cheaper, and more powerful. The 2000 Celica got a few more angles than the previous generation, but it still maintained the round, sleek shape that has become the Celica's signature. The 2000 Celica also had some new safety features, including an automatic fuel delivery system shutoff when the airbags deploy, a first for any Toyota.
The convertible was discontinued for the 2000 Celica, leaving only the hatchback. The hatchback GT came with a 1.8-liter, 140-hp engine. The GT-S got the 180 horses and was available with a 6-speed manual transmission, a first for the Celica. The GT-S also has distinctive exterior and interior features. The GT engine got about 27/34 mpg, and the GT-S engine got about 23/30 mpg.
The Celica's new style once again proved to be popular with drivers. Toyota received praise for avoiding the conservative look that most of their cars have. Drivers also liked the extra power in the GT-S, although drivers complain that the GT is still too slow. As with Celicas that came before, drivers find the interior to be cramped, especially in the back seat.

(92 reviews)Performance- First off, it's gotta be a GT-S MANUAL TRANS. Second, The sound of variable valve lift is amazing. Rev that sucker all the way to redline! This car is supper fun. One of the best front wheel drive handling cars. Build quality- It's a Toyota Apparance- Great hot design... Except the rear is a little lazy Cost of ownership- Very good. Gets 32mpg hwy. Pretty good for a 180hp car. Fun factor- Very very fun car for the money
good acceleration, great breaking, handles really well, no repairs so far, great appearance cloth interrior, paid 6,900, easy matenance, a fun car to drive, limited space for seating, large trunk space , great modified sound system, easy aoutmatic shifting. love the car
The first year this car was made 2000 the horsepower was underrated. Dealerships stated 180hp when in reality it was 190 because of the Japanese ECU. In 2001 a different ECU was used and bumped the horsepower down. - Overall, it was a great car and handled like a charm. - Modifying was cheap and relatively easy. - Gas mileage is great about 34/25 - Power is lacking but is easily upgradeable. PERFORMANCE: Acceleration for its class is great. Braking is good, especially with optional ABS. Handling is great especially with a little customization. BUILD: Build quality is average like any Japanese car. There were some rattles, interior trim. Replaced clutch at 50k and used synthetic oil. STYLING: This is a matter of opinion, but I thought the look and feel of the car was amazing and it will never look "old" like other models. Interior is great, especially the seats. COST: Gas mileage was great about 34/25 oil changes were about $100. FUN: Absolutely. This car is great to throw into a corner and feel it stick. Very light weight and agile. Engine screams starting at 6k rpm when Variable Valve Timing with LIFT kicks in. Also sounded great with my Borla exhaust.
with a little work the suspension was able to be set for great handling what it lacked on power it made up for in the corners. a real blast to drive. I never had any quality problems durring the time that I owned it and that included 5 seasons of auto Xs
Overall performance of this car in terms of braking and handling have been great but the acceleration is the biggest negative on this car to me. I have not had to do alot of major repairs in the 5 years that i have owned the car. The styling of the car is what originally drew me to this vechicle and why i still love it today. the gas milage is good and averges 25 to 30 a gallon. The car has been very fun to drive over the past 5 years i have done a lot of work to it with the body kit, rims, sound system and all the other smaller extras. I have been very happy with the car and would recomment it to anyone.
