Overview

With a major overhaul planned for the 1998 model year, there were no changes to the 1997 Lexus GS 300. The car retained its smooth styling and its efficient, six cylinder, 225 horsepower engine.
And odd taillight design and a "rather hefty" back end didn't detract from the smooth and distinctive profile of the GS 300. Users also liked the wood-lined interior and some of the other creature comforts Lexus engineered into the cabin.
Despite a new, five-speed transmission, some drivers felt the 3.0 liter engine was "sluggish off the line." The car did "handle adeptly," offering a "moderately firm ride."

The car is cool, it has normal common car issues, but what car doesnt. It is very fun to drive, and i still get lots of compliments on it. its a 97, and many other models were released after it, but this 1st gen is still one of the best.
