Overview

The 1996 Toyota Rav4 introduced a relatively new concept: all of the height, none of the bulk, way more style than similar vehicles.
The 1996 Rav4 was fairly cutting edge for its time. It had the luxuries of a car such as cup holders and easy in-and-out (although it still sits higher than the Explorer), with the more rugged feel of an SUV and the price of a small- to mid-size sedan.
The four-wheel drive system is run on a 120-horsepower, 4I engine. It takes a full 10 seconds to get up to 60, yet has the accompanying fuel efficiency (about 21/25 city/highway).

This is an awesome vehicle that works really well for me to work out of as I do maintenance and repair work. I love that the back door opens out that way I have extra head room when working out of the back. It will go anywhere and it is super reliable.

IMO this car essential started off the whole SUV thing. I still remember the huge shock when this car debut... it looks funky, different and interesting. They market it as a leisure fashionable off-roader with on road capability and a high driving position.... whatever that is, it seems to be very successful at the time.

i dont mind the rav4 its very chic to get around in and its the perfect size for beach driving and towing small boats, jetskis or box trailer and stereo surround is great but transmission slow and suspension lousy.
