The 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 (302) coupe was Ford code P41E and was referred to as a "sedan". This sedan is often called a coupe, notchback, or just plain notch and was available with either an automatic transmission (AOD) or the T-5 5 speed manual transmission. A few of these 5.0 sedans were special ordered by law enforcement agencies or police departments and are referred to as "SSP". There were 2 special buck tags located near the cars radiator support that signified that the car was a SSP. These cars used the standard 225 hp 5.0 (302) engines as found in the LX 5.0 or GT cars but they had several modification including handling packages, reinforced flooring, cooling, braking, and electrical components that lent themselves to heavy duty highway cruising and police pursuit work. There were only 385 of these special ordered sedans built, so in respect, they are quite scarce. The sedan or coupe was the lightest of all Mustang models produced in 1991 and both the SSP and regular production 5.0's are sought after by enthusiasts and collectors. Many of these cars are still found on the drag strips or on the street. A lot of these sedans were base platforms for highly modified street or drag cars and to find a totally stock one is now getting pretty difficult. A little trivia. The most popular color (production wise) for the sedan in 1991 was Oxford White followed by Bright Red.

I just love the speed and handling she has. I love the fact that it is very easy to work on when the time comes. My last one I had 165K miles on it when I sold it. The day I sold it she still ran awesome! Also had the original clutch believe it or not. I think the only thing in the engine bay I had to replace was the radiator and water pump. Good motor!

just a beautiful sleeper modern day american muscle car. clean lines, big time torque and power. beautiful, foolish driving inducing exhaust and engine note. rally great fun and a blast to drive. reliable, durable mechanical parts. the power you feel instinaniously as soon as your right foot touches the accelarater.

You cannot beat a foxbody mustang. They are inexpensive, reliable, have excellent performance and a great look. Even fuel economy is exceptional. Cornering and handling are tremendous. This car is a blast to drive. Lots of power and torque. 25-27mpg on the highway with an automatic!!! Never left me stranded anywhere. Great sound and power and an excellent street presence. Cops respect you too.

Performance: Acceleration and handling were great. Brakes could be better. Build Quality: Owned the car for 45,000 miles, no major repairs. Appearance: I really loved it. Cost of Ownership: Tires were not cheap, but that was mostly my fault, not the cars..lol Gas mileage was very good for that type of car. Fun Factor: Very fun. Great acceleration, awesome V8 sound.

This car was bought new by my wife's brother. He gave it to our daughter in 2003. She used it until 2009 when she gave it to her younger brother who is now the primary driver. I don't drive it or ride in it too often, it is hard on my old body. It has had one repaint in the original color, one new top, & the cloth interior has been redone in black leather. The drivetrain has only had routine maintanence. It currently has 130000 miles. The steering rack is starting to get some play in it & the valve cover gaskets are leaking. Overall has been a very good car.
