Overview

The 1982 Impala remained the same as the 1981 model, except that the trims were reduced to the standard four-door sedan and the station wagon. The base engine was a 229-ci V6 rated at 110 horsepower, and optional engines included a 267-ci V8 rated at 115 horsepower, a 305-ci V8 145 horsepower, and a 350-ci rated at 150 horsepower.
The car had a few fuel-injection problems which resulted in a recall in January of 1982.

I inherited my 82 Impala in 1998 from a neighbor who was also a good friend. It only had 70,000 miles on it then. It has a 229 v6 which I was skeptical about at first. It has turned out to be very reliable transporation, and a joy to drive. It is one of the last breed of big solid GM cars.
