I was surprised and disappointed at the exceptionally low level of Customer Service from this dealership. There is a lot of competition out there so I'm confident I will be able to purchase the vehicle I want, just not from this dealership. Here are the details of my experience. I found a vehicle on CarGurus that matched what I was looking for. I was unable to find that same vehicle on the dealer's own website so I inquired about it. Within an hour or so I received a response that they too could not find that vehicle but that someone else would contact me on Monday about it. When nobody did I followed up again and this time a different person said someone would follow up. By late Tuesday I still had not gotten a response so I followed up again. This time a different person sent me the link to a different vehicle without stating if the vehicle I wanted was available or not. I complained to the dealer and received an email back stating a manager would be contacting me. Still waiting.

Dealership did respond. I am interested in the car just working on trying to get it finance. Still looking around.

Worst CarMax Experience Possible – Avoid Independence Boulevard Location. I went through the process with CarMax on Independence Boulevard expecting a straightforward used car purchase. What I got instead was complete radio silence and zero accountability. No one ever contacted me. Not a single call, email, or follow-up. I reached out multiple times and it was like throwing messages into a black hole. Apparently, getting in touch with a customer who’s ready to buy is too much to ask.This is exactly what’s wrong with these giant companies: too many unqualified, uncaring employees who are way over their skis when it comes to basic customer service. No one takes ownership. No one seems to care. The whole process felt sloppy, disorganized, and disrespectful of my time.Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish. I’ll think twice before dealing with CarMax again. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that actually values customers.

Contacted the dealer via internet inquiry. Got an initial response, but no answers to direct questions. I followed up with a call and message. Received a call back about 4 hours later, diff person, still no direct answers to questions about addtl charges, but a “We’ll send you an email.” The info showed seller’s asking price was 10k over what was listed online (more than a new current year model would cost). Dealer add-ons were around $2400, with ridiculous items. In all, there were three different prices listed for that vehicle. My response to that prompted an offer of a detailed, transparent breakdown of final price & chosen add-ons. No info yet. Continuing my search. Are customers really agreeing to these made up charges (could we please stop the nitro in tires nonsense?) and different numbers than advertised?
