Few vehicles of any type carry the legacy and desirability of the Porsche 911. The iconic German sports car has dominated the street and tracks for decades, and Porsche continues improving on the rear-engine formula year after year. There are now a dizzying number of 911 variants available, ranging from basic but quick to downright mind-blowing, but all of them feature hefty six-figure price tags.

What’s New for the 2026 Porsche 911
The 911 picked up a handful of improvements for 2026, including a revival of the Carrera 4S trim, which has a 473-horsepower flat-six and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Porsche also improved the car’s infotainment system for 2026 and added new options to its already-expansive add-ons list.
Design
Porsche has made the 911 larger, wider, and longer over the years, but it remains shockingly close to the car’s original design. Its rear-engine layout gives it a unique shape, with a long hood and a cropped rear end, but all models feature aggressive, sporty styling.
Powertrain
The 911 is available with a long list of powertrain options. The base engine is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six, making 388 horsepower, while the Carrera 4S steps up to 473 horsepower. The impressive 911 Turbo S with a new hybrid powertrain delivers a staggering 701 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Dual-clutch and automatic transmissions are available, depending on the trim, and some models offer all-wheel drive (AWD).

Interior
Porsche offers an almost endless number of configuration options for all its vehicles, and the 911 is no exception. It can be optioned with leather, cloth, Alcantara, and other upholstery materials, and a range of seat designs are available, depending on the trim. Some models offer a two-person back seat, but the rear accommodations are so tight that it’s almost not worth the extra weight of the seat itself.
Technology
Porsche equips a 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.9-inch touchscreen running the latest Porsche Communication Management system. Apple CarPlay is onboard, along with Amazon Alexa functionality, and the available stereo options now feature Dolby Atmos surround sound. Porsche’s infotainment system is mostly easy to use, with responsive menus and intuitive navigation. It runs flawlessly on the touchscreen display, and the new digital gauge cluster offers more views of music and other data.
Safety
The 911 does not receive regular crash-test results due to the extreme costs involved and its relatively low sales volume compared to mass-market models. Standard features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, parking sensors, and a rearview camera. Available tech includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, night vision assist, adaptive headlights, a highway driving-assistance system, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, pricing for the 2026 Porsche 911 is not yet available. The 2025 model started at $132,300 and ranged to $284,300 for the top 911 Turbo S Cabriolet model.
