The Genesis G90 was one of the first models in the brand's lineup when it went on sale in 2016 and it entered its second generation in 2023. Though the large luxury sedan market is dwindling, the G90 is a strong competitor against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the BMW 7 Series, the Audi A8, and the Lexus LS 500. The 2025 Genesis G90 has three awkwardly named all-wheel-drive (AWD) trims: 3.5T AWD, 3.5T E-SC MHEV AWD, and the 3.5T E-SC Prestige Black AWD.

What’s New for the 2026 Genesis G90
The Genesis G90 got a complete redesign in 2023 with revised styling, new powertrains, standard AWD, and a lot more tech. By comparison, the 2026 G90 has only received minor updates, including the new 3.5T Prestige Black AWD trim, flat-blade windshield wipers with integrated washers, and enhanced warning sounds for blind-spot monitoring and parking sensors.
Design
The exterior of the 2026 Genesis G90 is sleek and elegant, with premium accents and details, and standard Micro Lens Array headlights. Exterior paint options are subdued and classic rather than flashy, and every paint except Maui Black comes with a price. Accessory options such as the illuminated door scuff plates and floating wheel caps add an even more premium feel to this already luxurious large sedan. Standard wheels are 20 inches, but 21-inch alloys are available on the upper two trims. There are no appearance packages, but the new Prestige Black top-tier trim has dark exterior touches.
Powertrain
There are two available powertrains on the AWD 2026 G90, starting with a 375-horsepower 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. The second powertrain takes the same V6 engine, adds an electric supercharger and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and boasts 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. The base engine gets an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the supercharged six-cylinder delivers 17 mpg and 24 mpg, respectively. Premium fuel is required.

Interior
The interior of the 2026 Genesis G90 is simple and refined, with premium materials and solid touchpoints throughout. This full-size sedan seats five, and although its rear legroom is less than that of competitors, it has a lot of trunk space. Nappa leather seats with front massagers are standard, as are other high-end finishing touches such as matte wood trim, a suede headliner, power rear sunshades, and three-zone climate controls. Available upgrades include heated and ventilated rear seats with massage and semi-aniline quilted leather upholstery.
Technology
As you would expect from a luxury vehicle, the 2026 Genesis G90 has plenty of high-tech amenities. Standard features include a 12.3-inch infotainment screen paired with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and the ability to use your phone as a key. That leaves little for the options list, but upper trims add two additional features—a rear wireless phone charger and a premium 3D Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Safety
Safety features are plentiful on the 2026 Genesis G90. All models are equipped with advanced forward-collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic avoidance assist, a radar-equipped rear occupant alert, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and more. Though the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) hadn’t fully tested the 2026 G90 at the time of writing, the 2025 model was rated a Top Safety Pick. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) hadn’t crash tested the G90 at the time of writing.

Pricing and Release Date

The top-tier Prestige Black model, with semi-aniline leather seats, floating center wheel caps, and dark interior and exterior trim, tops out at $107,895. With most content standard on the various trims, there are no pricey options or packages, though Genesis does offer accessories and extra-cost premium paint colors.
