The 2025 Crosstrek is one year removed from a 2024 redesign, which ushered in the third generation for the plucky crossover. It is largely carried over from that 2024 design overhaul.
Design
The Crosstrek Base trim comes with 17-inch dark gray alloy wheels, while higher trims like the Sport and Limited feature 18-inch alloy wheels with a machine or dark gray finish. The Wilderness trim stands out with unique body cladding, a matte-black anti-glare hood decal, and alloy wheels paired with all-terrain tires.
Powertrain
The base engine is a 2.0-liter "Boxer" (horizontally opposed) engine with 152 horsepower. You can upgrade to a 2.5-liter Boxer engine with 182 horsepower. Both route power through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to AWD. Fuel economy ranges from 26 mpg city, 33 highway, and 29 combined with the 2.0-L to 26 city, 32 highway, and 28 combined for the 2.5-L. The Wilderness trim adds 9.3 inches of ground clearance, an upgraded suspension, and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
Interior
The 2025 Crosstrek's Base trim features cloth seating surfaces and manual front seats. Moving to the Premium trim adds heated front seats. The Sport trim adds sporty gray cloth seats with yellow contrast stitching and faux carbon fiber accents. The Limited gets leather seats with orange contrast stitching, along with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat featuring two-way lumbar support. The rugged Wilderness trim includes water-resistant Subaru StarTex seating surfaces. The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek provides 20.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expanding to 54.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
Technology
The base infotainment system for 2025 uses a pair of 7-inch touchscreens in the center console, which include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Crosstrek comes equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist suite as standard equipment.
