What’s New for the 2025 Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster

All new for 2025, the Grenadier Quartermaster combines the off-road capability of the Grenadier station wagon with the practicality of a pickup bed. Like its station wagon sibling, the Quartermaster is a body-on-frame off-roader, with full-time four wheel drive, solid axles front and rear, and an optional snorkel. The Quartermaster is available in two trims: the Trialmaster Edition for extreme off-road adventures and the Fieldmaster Edition for a more rounded experience.

Design

With boxy, no frills styling and optional safari windows, the Quartermaster pickup is ready for adventure. 17-inch steel wheels are standard, while 18-inch steelies are optional. Those looking for more style can spring for 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels. Any wheel may be optioned with BF Goodrich KO2 off-road tires for those looking for the ultimate off-road performance.

Otherwise, the Trialmaster Edition comes ready for adventure, with the more aggressive off-road tires as standard, a ladder for easier access to the roof rack, and a snorkel air intake for water crossings. The Fieldmaster Edition is great for everyday use, with more civil options like road-oriented wheels and tires, heated leather seats and carpeted floor mats.

Powertrain

Under the hood is a BMW-derived six-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 282 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Mated to an eight-speed ZF transmission, the Quartermaster can accelerate to sixty miles per hour in an adequate 8.6 seconds.

Fuel economy does not impress despite the mild hybridization of the six-cylinder power plant. Thanks to its boxy shape and full-time four-wheel-drive, the Quartermaster is rated at 14 miles per gallon, city, highway and combined.

Once you go off-road the Grenadier is incredibly capable. A two-speed transfer case combined with locking differentials front, rear and center, deliver outstanding off-road performance. This heavy duty hardware also allows the Grenadier to tow up to 7,716 pounds.

Interior

Utilitarian design continues on the inside. To keep the old-school look and feel, the Quartermaster features an impressive amount of analog buttons, switches and knobs, both on the dash and on the roof, on the overhead control panel. We recommend optioning Safari windows, which add two removable panels over the driver and passenger that create an aeronautical feel to the off-road motoring experience.

Cloth seats are standard, while heated leather seats are optional. The Fieldmaster Edition comes standard with heated leather seats and carpets. The 1924 Limited Edition also comes standard with leather and a unique green finish on the dashboard plastics.

Technology

A standard 12.3” infotainment screen handles all of the duties that we have come to expect from a modern vehicle in 2025. Wireless Apple CarPlay is standard, while Android users have to stick with wired Android Auto. This display is also used for your normal vehicle instrumentation, like your speedometer, tachometer, and off-road data when you need it.

Safety

All Quartermasters come standard with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and intelligent speed assist. Unfortunately, adaptive cruise control is not available, which is disappointing considering the price of this truck. Neither the Ineos Grenadier nor the Grenadier Quartermaster has not been tested by NHTSA or IIHS.
