The 2025 Honda Prologue is a carryover vehicle, because it made its debut as an all-new midsize electric SUV in 2024. It’s available in three trims—EX, Touring, and Elite—and competes with the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Nissan Ariya, and the Tesla Model Y. Of its competitive set, the Prologue is the most expensive, with a base price of $48,850.

What’s New for the 2025 Honda Prologue

As a carryover model, there isn’t much that’s new for the 2025 Honda Prologue, but the big news is that the max range for this EV is now 308 miles, which is up 12 miles from 2024. Also, the all-wheel drive models get a power boost and are now rated at 300 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque.

Design

The 2025 Honda Prologue looks clean and simple. Though it shares a platform with the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the exterior is uniquely Honda, with a low and wide silhouette, distinct grille, signature headlights, and longer wheelbase. With curved edges sloped rear spoiler, the Prologue has good aerodynamics that curtail wind noise. The Prologue also debuts Honda’s new EV name badge in a stylized typeface.

Powertrain

As part of Honda’s partnership with General Motors, the 2025 Prologue uses an 85 kWh liquid cooled lithium-ion Ultium battery. Front-wheel drive, single-motor models deliver up to 308 miles of range, while dual-motor, all-wheel drive models return between 283 (Elite) and 294 (EX, Touring) miles. The FWD models have 220 horsepower, whereas the AWD models have 300hp. The Prologue has DC fast charging rates up to 150 kW, and can add 65 miles of range in about 10 minutes, and it’ll take about 35 minutes to go from 20 to 80%. The prologue has a max towing capacity of 1,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Interior

The 2025 Honda Prologue's interior is clean and simple. It has two large digital displays for the gauge cluster and the infotainment screen, and the graphics share a lot of similarities with the Chevrolet Blazer. It seats five passengers and comes standard with heated front seats, cloth seating surfaces, 60/40 split rear seats, and dual-zone climate control. Available features include leather seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power adjustable passenger seat. A panoramic moonroof becomes standard at the Touring trim. The Prologue EX has a maximum rear cargo capacity of 25.2 cubic feet with the rear seats up, and 57.7 cubic feet with the seats down. Both the Touring and the Elite trims are slightly less at 23.7 and 54.5 cubic-feet respectively.

Technology

One of the big tech features that sets the Honda Prologue apart from the Chevrolet Blazer is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Though both vehicles use the Google built-in operating system, only the Prologue has CarPlay/Auto compatibility. It also has a standard 11.3-inch infotainment screen, a wireless phone charger, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. While a six-speaker audio system is inlcuded with the base EX, the premium Bose audio system is standard from the Touring trim.

Safety

The 2025 Honda Prologue comes standard with Honda Sensing safety technologies, which include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic reverse braking, and rear park assist. The only available safety features include front and rear park parking sensors, a rear pedestrian alert, and 360-degree cameras. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety hadn’t fully tested the Prologue at the time of writing, but it gets mostly good ratings in the tests it has performed. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives an overall five-Star safety rating.

Pricing and Release Date

The 2025 Honda Prologue is already on sale and, as of this writing, Honda lists pricing as $48,850 for the base single-motor EX, $53,150 for the single-motor Touring, and $59,350 for the dual-motor Elite. The dual-motor option adds $3,000 to the bottom line of both the EX and Touring.
