What’s New for the 2024 Subaru BRZ
For 2024, Subaru gives the BRZ a nice update by adding the brand’s EyeSight package of safety tech to the list of standard features. Shoppers looking for a little more performance can now opt for the new top-tier BRZ tS trim. The BRZ was fully redesigned for the 2022 model year alongside its cousin, the Toyota GR86.
Design
The Subaru BRZ has a simple and subtle overall design. Its traditional coupe profile has a low, wide stance with muscular haunches. The new BRZ tS gets exclusive cues inside and out, including 18-inch wheels finished in a dark gray metallic, gold brake calipers on the Brembo performance brakes, tS badging, and blue-stitched upholstery.
Powertrain
The 2024 Subaru BRZ comes with a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated for 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard across the lineup. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard, and a six-speed automatic is available. While all BRZs get a Torsen limited-slip differential, the new BRZ tS gets upgrades in the form of STI-tuned front dampers and Hitachi rear dampers, Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.

Interior
Technically, the BRZ has four seats, but the second row is so snug that it’s pretty much unusable for anything except extra storage. The BRZ has a simple, sport-inspired cockpit with an easy, functional layout. Standard features include front sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and black cloth upholstery with red stitching. Options include leather and synthetic suede upholstery. The new BRZ tS gets black upholstery with blue stitching and a steering wheel with STI badging.
Technology
Tech features in the 2024 BRZ are simple and functional, with few distractions. Subaru fits the car with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a customizable digital instrument display. There are few tech options on the menu, but the BRZ is available with an upgraded 10-speaker audio system.
Safety
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not crash-tested the 2024 Subaru BRZ, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has only conducted three tests, though the model did earn the top score of “Good” in all three. The BRZ now comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight package, which bundles adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, lead vehicle start alert, and automatic high beams, in addition to a rearview camera.

Pricing and Release Date
The 2024 Subaru BRZ is available now. As of this writing, Subaru lists pricing for the BRZ starting at an MSRP of $30,195 for the base Premium trim, $32,695 for the mid-tier Limited trim, and $35,345 for the new tS trim. The destination charge for the Subaru BRZ is an additional $1,120.
