2024 Infiniti QX80 Pricing, Specs, and Release Date

The full-size luxury SUV segment is as cutthroat as they come, with every heavyweight premium automaker offering at least one compelling option in the space. Based on the Nissan Armada, the Infiniti QX80 offers one of the few standard V8 engines in its class, but the big mill is less fuel-efficient than other options.

What’s New for the 2024 Infiniti QX80

Infiniti has given the QX80 a few more standard features over the years, but this SUV feels less modern than most of its competition. It got a new optional appearance package for 2024, but no other substantive changes. A redesigned version arrives for 2025, making this the final year of the model's second generation.

Design

The big QX80 is less boxy than its Nissan counterpart, bringing a slightly more athletic look. That said, it’s still an imposing vehicle, and its chrome bodywork gives it a more upscale look than the Armada. The new Dark Chrome appearance package is available for the Sensory trim and brings blacked-out exterior trim and black wheels.

Powertrain

A beefy V8 engine used to be considered a luxury, but in today’s world, this configuration can be thirsty and don’t always provide superior output compared to its smaller counterparts. The QX80’s 5.6-liter V8 makes 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque and is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission with standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) or optional four-wheel drive (4WD). The QX80 has more than ample power, and the big V8 makes a nice sound under heavy throttle, but it also drinks fuel, only returning 16 mpg combined with RWD.

2024 Infiniti QX80 - Interior

Interior

The QX80’s considerable exterior dimensions afford generous interior space. Leather upholstery comes standard, along with heated front seats. A heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel is also standard, and the front two rows offer expansive passenger room. The third-row seat is not as generous on the room, but the space is easy to reach, and it’s roomier than some rivals’ accommodations.

Technology

A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system provides wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The long list of other standard features includes HD radio, Amazon Alexa functionality, navigation, SiriusXM, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more. Infiniti recently updated the QX80’s interface, making it more responsive and less complicated to use while driving. The large touchscreen has good resolution and is easily visible from both of the front seats.

Safety

The QX80 hasn’t been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded it four stars overall. Standard driver aids include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, a rearview mirror camera, a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and more.
