What’s New for the 2024 Audi RS 6 Avant
The RS 6 Avant was last redesigned for the 2020 model year. For 2024, it has been upgraded as the new RS 6 Avant Performance, featuring more power and some weight-reduction efforts. A new Bronze Edition is available, with bronze-colored wheels and interior accents.
Design
The RS 6 Avant stands out with its aggressive, muscular design. Offered exclusively as the new Performance trim, it features even more aggressive styling elements and 22-inch wheels.
In addition to the Bronze Edition, other visual optional packages are available. The Matte Carbon Package features 22-inch matte black wheels, matte carbon exterior trim, and black exterior elements. The Black Optic Package adds 22-inch gloss black wheels, black roof rails, and additional black exterior accents.
Powertrain
The heart of the 2024 RS 6 Avant is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, producing 621 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission to Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) system. The car also features a 48-volt hybrid system and an upgraded center differential.
This setup allows for a zero to 60 time of 3.3 seconds on the way to a top speed that’s electronically limited to 155 mph. Opting for the available carbon-ceramic brakes unlocks an impressive 190 mph top speed.
Fuel economy for the RS 6 Avant is 14 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. This powertrain requires premium fuel.
Interior
The RS 6 Avant has a modern, advanced cabin with sharp styling and supportive seats. Standard features include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, four-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
An available RS Design Package Plus includes an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, shift lever, and center console sides, along with blue contrast stitching on various interior elements, carbon twill inlays with blue accents, and blue seat belts. An Executive package adds heated rear seats and power soft-closing doors.
The RS 6 Avant provides 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, accessed via a standard power liftgate.
Technology
The infotainment system is composed of a 10.1-inch upper touchscreen and a secondary 8.6-inch screen. The lower screen operates climate control and other functions, while the upper screen handles entertainment functions and operates the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other tech features include Bang & Olufsen stereo, wireless device charging, a built-in navigation system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Safety
Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and front and rear parking sensors. Optional safety upgrades include night vision, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and rear cross-traffic alert.
