The 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid builds on the practicality and cabin comfort of the CR-V and ups the ante with a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain. The Hybrid variant was added alongside the conventionally powered Honda CR-V in 2020. It carries over into 2022 largely unchanged. The CR-V Hybrid has slightly less cargo space than its non-hybrid counterpart. The Hybrid provides up to 67.8 cubic feet of cargo space and 33.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats (the non-hybrid provides 75.8 and 39.2, respectively).
Trims for the CR-V Hybrid are EX, EX-L, and Touring. The EX trim comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a power moonroof, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, first- and second-row USB ports, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX-L trim adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power liftgate, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The range-topping Touring trim includes features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, wireless device charging, a nine-speaker premium stereo system, navigation, and rear parking sensors.
The CR-V Hybrid features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with two electric motors to produce a combined 212 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission routes power from the engine to the front wheels, while one of the electric motors powers the rear wheels. It also features regenerative braking to capture energy from deceleration. Fuel economy for the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid is 40 mpg city, 35 highway, and 38 combined. The digital instrument panel features a power-flow monitor so that you can see how you are using the hybrid drivetrain and whether you are conserving or expending energy. The vehicle also features ECON, Sport, and full EV drive modes. In EV mode, it can go just about one mile using only the battery.
The CR-V Hybrid comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite of high-tech driver assistance features. This includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Front and rear parking sensors are available as optional features.
Base MSRP for the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid is $31,610 for the EX trim. The EX-L trim starts at $34,200, and the Touring trim starts at $37,400. The CR-V Hybrid is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid are highly satisfied with their purchase. They appreciate the vehicle's quiet ride, excellent fuel economy, and advanced safety features. Many drivers also love the spacious and comfortable interior, making it a great family SUV. On the downside, some noted the lack of a spare tire, but this has not significantly impacted their experience."
My only complaint is the back tailgate isn't electric… other than that all is great!
July 28, 2025Loved Adaptive cruise control, heating steering wheel & seats, all the safety features like blind spot warning.
November 20, 2021My CRV hybrid is so good, Im getting another one. That says it all. Its a no brainer, if you are in the market for an SUV. Its very reliable, I had zero issues in 19,000 miles. Pros: Quiet comfortable ride. Nice to take on a trip, lots of room, easy to drive. It feels really safe, with the tech features, such as blind spot monitor. Just set the adaptive cruise control, and go. I recommend EXL. It has leather heated seats, and heated steering wheel. Very nice in winter. Cons: Its hard to find complaints. It would be nice if it had a spare tire, but that has caused me exactly 0 issues. In the winter, it probably wont get the 38 combined MPG, but I have exceeded that in the spring, summer, and fall.

July 29, 2022Beautiful finishes and features, easy handling and great gas mileage.
October 11, 2023Exactly what I expected from small SUV hybrid great mileage nice smooth drive
August 29, 2022Great quiet ride. Comfortable roomy cabin and less expensive to insure. Whats not to like?
December 24, 2021Quiet, build quality is great! Fittings dont pop or move. Averaging about 39.2+ gas mileage in mixed driving. Good leg room front and back. No spare tire.
August 6, 2022The CR-C touring is very well equipped and capable. We love the AWD which is full time - we live in N. WI where icy and snow covered roads is a way of life. Others in this segment (RAV4) are only AWD up to 40mph. This is something the driver can feel and misleading when being sold. Love the features/fit and reliability of the Honda. Every one we’ve ever owned has needed oil changes and tire rotations, we can’t wait to take ownership of our new Hybrid
November 24, 2021Have really enjoyed the car. Touring hybrid model 39mpg city. Runs well Nice features.
August 24, 2022Saves on gas and quiet. Best compact suv!
