The 2011 GMC Sierra 3500HD SLT Ext. Cab LB is a six-passenger, one-ton truck with an extended cab and a long bed (75.5 cubic feet cargo volume). Like all the Sierra 3500HDs, it comes standard with a 6.0-liter gasoline V8 (360 horsepower, 380 lb-ft of torque) paired with a heavy duty, electronically controlled, six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and tow/haul mode. But the preferred drivetrain is the optional Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 (397 horsepower, 765 lb-ft of torque) paired with an Allison 1000 electronically controlled, six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, electronic engine grade braking and tow/haul mode. Equipped with the turbodiesel V8, the SLT Ext. Cab LB has a 17,300-pound towing capacity (14,000 pounds with the gas V8) and a 4,209-pound maximum payload (4,632 with the lighter weight gas V8).
The SLT trim level is the high end for the Sierra 3500HD and builds off the features of the Work Truck and SLE trims (cruise control, full power accessories, six months of OnStar Directions and Connections plan, tilt steering column, two 12-volt outlets, remote entry, color-keyed carpeting, Driver Information Center, chrome bumpers with rear step pad, daytime running lamps and front recovery hooks). The standard SLT level interior upgrades include dual zone air conditioning, heated front bucket seats with 10-way power adjustments for the driver and passenger, Bluetooth, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rear window defogger and a Bose Premium sound system for the AM/FM/CD stereo with auto-tone control, Radio Data System, automatic volume, TheftLock,
auxiliary input jack and a USB port. The standard SLT exterior upgrades are a heavy-duty locking rear differential, fog lamps and heated, power-adjustable, power-folding, body-color mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming and integrated turn signals.
