The Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class two-door coupes and cabriolets receive only minor updates for 2009. The automaker adds heated front seats as standard equipment for all CLK-Class vehicles, as well as a standard six-disc CD changer mounted in the glovebox, which conceals it from view yet ensures easy access by drivers and passengers. Among other features, the CD changer plays MP3-coded CDs. In addition, drivers can control the CD changer using buttons mounted on the multifunction steering wheel.
Mercedes offers the CLK-Class in four trims for 2009, including the CLK350 Coupe, the CLK350 Cabriolet, CLK550 Coupe, and CLK550 Cabriolet. All are rear-wheel-drive vehicles, and seat four passengers. In addition, all CLK-Class vehicles retain their broad stance and pillarless cabin design, which results in an airy, uninterrupted side profile with the windows opened or closed. The current design dates back to 2003 (2002 for the coupes), so the CLK-Class coupes and cabriolets feel a bit dated. However, Mercedes will give the CLK-Class a design refresh in 2010, making 2009 the final year of the current design.
A 268-hp, 3.5-liter V6 powers the CLK350 Coupe and CLK350 Cabriolet. For both trims, the V6 links to a seven-speed automatic transmission, making the CLK-Class cars the only ones in their class with a seven-speed automatic, according to Mercedes. A 382-hp, 5.5-liter V8 engine drives the CLK550 Coupe and CLK550 Cabriolet. Both also feature the seven-speed automatic transmission, as well as 18-inch AMG-designed five-twin-spoke wheels (as opposed to 17-inch wheels for the CLK350 trims).
Across the line, standard features include 10-way power-adjustable front seats, a driver's multicontour seat with adjustable side bolsters, leather upholstery throughout, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated windshield washer system, and the Keyless-Go system, which enables drivers to lock and unlock the vehicle and start and stop the engine with using a key. In addition, all trims except the CLK350 Coupe come equipped with a sport suspension, which includes a lower ride height and firmer coil springs and shock absorbers, resulting in more precise handling. The system is available as an option on the CLK350 Coupe.

Rather a niche vehicle. Not for everyone. Must say the cabriolet has a better roof and body line than the coupe. Good quiet ride firm positive steering control and feel. CLK and E class Mercedes Benz cars are the best quality value available. German engineering and quality cant be beat! Pay a little bit more but get significant number of quality extras. MB has always been ahead of the competition in new features and safety elements.Jan 12, 2022

I don’t think the car is a good value at the current price.
The top needing to be replaced and deep gouges in the paint made this otherwise beautiful vehicle a disappointment.
The rope would have to be replaced and a paint job or wrap would be needed.

Mercedes really does build a very nice car. It looks great and very comfortable and exciting to drive. I loved driving it on the winding hilly roads with the top down, if your a convertible fan then this is the car for you. It kept me nice and dry during the winter months and the heated and ventilated seats are awesome. Performance wise with the sports package it is short of amazing. It handles aggressively and hugs the corners like crazy. The "shiftamatic" system is like driving a manual without a clutch, pretty sweet. Apr 05, 2015

The thing I did not like about this car is when the tire sensor came on, which meant that
one or more tires was low on air, so one has to be precise on the amount of air
in the tires. It is a nice quiet car, the engine is so quiet. There is no shimmy whats so ever that
some convertibles have. The soft top goes nicely into the trunk, this way you still have
room to put things. If there is ever a problem when your in the car there is a phone to call for
help....I drive this car only for pleasure....I even hate to take it to the stores so I ask my

Car is very attractive. Build quality, fit & finish excellent, inside and out. Handling excellent, ride quality stiff but comfortable. Comand system navigation somewhat cumbersome, but climate & audio functions intuitive & easy to use. Has ample power with decent gas mileage; transmission very smooth & seems to always select the proper gear for driving condition. unlike some other automatics. Mercedes introduced the CLK convertible back in 02', and the have not majorly redesigned the CLK. As the last year of the A209 production, this second generation 09' CLK350 is not that much different from the previous ones. With a 3.5L V6 engine pumping out 268hp and 258tq, it needs just a tad more power to haul its heavy convertible mechanism. The seats are moderately comfortable for a car at this price range, while the interior design should have been updated a long time ago. The navigation is the hardest ever to use; even the BMW iDrive is more user friendly than the Mercedes Nav of this generation. In terms of driving, the pickup is pretty good for such a heavy car, and when the top is down, one could care less about how fast it goes. Overall this is a great vehicle but not worth its price tag, in my honest opinion.Oct 22, 2011

Acceleration is blistering, with the traction control
disabled, you could spin the tires all day long.
Initial build quality leaves something to be desired.
The power steering fluid leaked into the rack which
required the entire rack to be replaced with 400
miles on the clock.
A lot of fun to drive, am not convinced the car has
the correct suspension. At times it feels too soft,
and at over bumps or with potholes too stiff.
GPS time is 5 hours and 3 minutes offset from
