2009 Jaguar XK-Series Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The 2009 XK-Series from Jaguar features a coupe and a convertible, each of which is also available in a supercharged XKR trim. The XK has a much smoother, more windswept design than other Jaguar series, but remains true to the mold with a full aluminum exterior and opulent interior design. The powertrain specs from 2008 should not change, but the front bumper and taillights have a fresh look for 2009.

Under the hood, the XK Base carries the standard Jaguar 4.2-liter, 300-hp V8 engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, wheel-mounted paddle shifters included. The Convertible shares the same engine, but in the XKR coupe and convertible, their supercharged V8 reaches 420 hp, and they have 0-60 times of 4.9 and 5.0 seconds, respectively.

Leather seats, gearshift knob, and steering wheel are standard on all models, along with poplar and walnut trim. The sound system provides audio luxury with a six-speaker 160-watt Alpine deck and the potential to upgrade to an eight-speaker, 525-watt system. The DVD-based navigation system features a 7-inch touch screen that controls audio, telephone, and climate.

Technology package options are available to give the XK series active cruise control and front park control, as well as many numerous interior add-ons.

Dual stage frontal airbags and ABS are standard, while the convertible has an automatically extending rollover bar, which engages when a rollover is detected.
