2008 Audi TT Trims and Specs

A new engine choice powers the Audi TT coupe -- a 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct fuel injection I4 that hits 200-hp and does 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. The new turbo coupe comes with either a 6-speed manual or the seamless-shifting 6-speed S-Tronic transmission. A longer, wider, and lighter aluminum frame improves overall performance. While trying to keep the car light with front-wheel drive only, the 2008 Audi TT 2.0T Coupe comes with ABS brakes, traction and stability control, fog lights, a tire monitor, and dual front-side airbags.

A rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels decorate the exterior. Inside you'll find power windows, locks, and heated mirrors, leather seats, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, leather and alloy cabin trim, and a CD player with MP3 compatbility. Rear seats in the four-seater coupe split-fold, and the front seats are extra supportive. A Premium Package adds much of what you get in the 3.2 Coupe, including remote garage opener, power front seats, a 6-CD player, shift paddles, and auto-dimming mirrors. Other options add a navigation system, xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, satellite radio, Bluetooth and iPod capability, and an adjustable magnetic ride suspension. An S-Line sport package includes 19-inch performance tires and a short-throw shifter.

The 2008 Audi TT 2.0T Roadster will follow its sister coupe later in the 2007 year, but it features the same lightweight aluminum body and new 200-hp direct fuel injection turbo 2.0-liter I4 engine. A choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed S-Tronic auto/manual transmission is available. The 2008 TT 2.0T Roadster comes standard with a manual soft top and rear glass window, but an automatic one is optional.

The front-wheel drive convertible seats two and rests on 17-inch tires and comes standard with ABS brakes, traction and stability control, dual front-side airbags, a tire monitor, and fog lights. It also features turn signals in the mirrors. A security system is included. The two-seater has a full array of power features, heated mirrors, cruise control, dual-zone climate, a CD player with MP3 compatibility, and leather sport seats. Leather trim on the steering wheel and shifter is also standard. Options are similar to the Coupe, and add larger performance tires, xenon headlamps, a navigation system, heated power front seats, an adjustable suspension, parking assist, shift paddles, satellite radio, 6-CD changer, and a short-throw shifter, depending on the various packages purchased.

The 2008 Audi TT 3.2 quattro Coupe keeps its engine from the previous year, though it's now housed in a frame that's 5 inches longer, 3 inches wider, and considerably lighter thanks to aluminum construction. Doing 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, powered by a 3.2-liter, 250-hp, DOHC V6, with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed S-Tronic auto/manual shifter, the 2008 TT 3.2 Coupe also features Audi's remarkable quattro all wheel drive and limited slip differential. It also packs a lot more features into its small frame versus the 2.0T.

Standard equipment beyond the 2.0T includes 17-inch alloy tires, shift paddles on the steering wheel, 6-way power front seats that are also heated and leather, and a 6-CD changer with MP3 capability, and a remote control with garage opener. Cruise control, dual-zone climate control, a compass and temperature display, and leather and alloy interior accents are also standard. ABS brakes, traction and stability control, dual front-side airbags, fog lights, and a tire monitor are safety considerations. 18-inch performance tires are optional, and an S-Line Package adds 19-inch tires, sport styling, and a short throw shifter. Other options include a navigation system, magnetic ride adjustable suspension, parking sensors, sateliite radio, upgraded leather seats, and xenon headlights. Color choices range from black, white, blue and red, to two choices of silver.

Audi unveils a restyled Roadster version of its trendsetting TT in 2008 - a little longer, a little wider, and a little lighter, which all add up to improved performance, even with the carryover 3.2-liter, 255-hp DOHC V6 engine. The 2008 Audi TT 3.2 Roadster is a quattro all-wheel-drive convertible with a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed S-Tronic seamless shift auto transmission. Unlike the 2.0T convertible, the 3.2 has an automatic soft top that packs away in front of the small cargo area. Outside, you'll find a rear deck spoiler.

ABS brakes, fog lights, a tire monitor, dusk-sensing headlamps, mirror turn signals, traction and stability control, and dual front-side airbags are all standard in the 2-seater. The 2008 TT 3.2 quattro is packed with power features, including 6-way power front seats, heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, shift paddles on the steering wheel, keyless entry, cruise control, and a 6-CD changer with MP3 playback.
