Overview

The Audi TT is a small premium sports car with two body styles: the two-seat, cloth-top Roadster and the four-seat hardtop Coupe. While there are no major changes this year, the 2021 model does get a host of new standard equipment, along with new colors.

The TT continues to house the Audi 45 TFSI engine, which is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It pairs up to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive (AWD), giving you a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 130 miles per hour, according to Audi. Four driving modes—Dynamic, Comfort, Auto, and Individual—let you tune the TT’s hardware to your specific driving flavor of the moment.

Audi offers the TT Coupe and Roadster in a single trim. Newly standard features include S sport seats, Napa leather, the Audi smartphone interface, navigation, 18-inch double-spoke wheels with all-season tires, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. Other standard features consist of keyless access and start, HID headlights, LED exterior lighting, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster that also does infotainment duty, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The S Line Competition Package gets you 19-inch black wheels on summer performance tires, sport suspension, leather/Alcantara seating, unique black interior and exterior trim, red brake calipers, and a unique steering wheel.

The TT is pretty light on safety options. The only items of note are reversing sensors, federally-mandated rear-view camera, and—for the Coupe only—blind-spot monitoring. As is common for its class, no version of the TT has been crash-tested by either the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The Audi TT is a unique lifestyle vehicle with style in spades.
