2008 Audi S8 Trims and Specs

The sport version of the full-size Audi A8 sedan, the 2008 Audi S8 5.2 Quattro features front and rear multi-link suspension with the Sport mode ride height from the adaptive air suspension in the A8. A 40-valve, 5.2-liter Lamborghini V10 that puts out 450 hp and 398 ft-lbs of torque is matched to a 6-speed Tiptronic with paddle shifters. The all-wheel-drive quattro comes with front and rear locking differentials and mechanical and limited-slip center differentials. The lower suspension combines with 20-inch alloy wheels and performance tires, Brembo brakes, and stronger shocks for better response, handling, and cornering. A rear spoiler, front air dam, and V10 badging adds sporty flair. Like the A8, the 2008 S8 5.2 Quattro is packed with safety features, including traction and stability control, 4-wheel ABS brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, and dual front, side, and knee airbags (along with side curtain bags for both rows). It also includes automatic headlights, cornering lights, foglights, xenon lamps, a tire monitor, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers, and new mirrors with turn signals.

At 199 inches long, S8 back-seat passengers receive ample legroom, and the trunk holds 15 cubic feet. Tie-downs, a cargo net, power trunk lid, and a power outlet are standard in the cargo area. There are three more power outlets in the cabin. 10-way power front seats with memory settings, heated front seats, leather upholstery, wheel-mounted cruise control and audio control for the 6-CD player, remote entry, a garage opener, security system, trip computer, voice-activated navigation system, dual-zone climate control, and intermittent front and rear wipers are all standard. Satellite radio, Bluetooth capability, and iPod hookups bring the S8 into the modern age. Other nice touches are heated retractable mirrors and power tilt and telescopic steering with memory settings. A sunroof is also standard, along with wood and alloy accents. Carbon fiber trim is optional. New options this year are a lane-departure and blind-spot warning system. These join add-ons such as adaptive cruise control (which maintains a safe distance from other cars), a rearview camera, upgraded audio, a solar-powered sunroof fan, and a ski bag in the trunk.
