Offering a little bit more upscale features than the base model S, the 2007 Nissan Versa SL hatchback is better equipped for maximum driver comfort and storage versatility. It has the same 1.8-liter, 122-hp 4-cylinder engine and standard 6-speed manual transmission as the S trim. On the SL, a CVT transmission is optional for seamless shifting.
It adds a lot more standard features, like one-touch power windows, cruise control, a center console/armrest for the front seat, an MP3-compatible player, an air filtration system, and an overhead console with various storage compartments. It's also available with a lot more options packages that add Bluetooth, satellite radio, ABS brakes, leather steering wheel, an audio system upgrade and a power sunroof. A special sports package adds front and rear spoilers, fog lights, and different styling for the front and rear fascias.
Drivers like the power of the twin-cam I4, the smoothness of the CVT, and all the great room in the Versa. A small trunk is one drawback.
