2007 Buick Lucerne Trims and Specs

The new full-size sedan in the Buick lineup is well-equipped and gets a few new gadgets this year, including standard OnStar with Turn-by-Turn. The 2007 Buick Lucerne CX is the base model and comes with a 3.8-liter, 197-hp V6 engine and 4-speed automatic. There is no manual option. With a spacious interior for four, the 2007 Lucerne CX offers many comforts even though it is the base model. These include ABS brakes, dual front and side airbags rear head airbags, a tire monitor, daytime running lights, and traction control.

In terms of convenience features, it comes with the full power set, including a 6-way power driver's seat, cruise control, keyless entry, a trip computer, compass, and tachometer. The steering wheel features controls for both audio and cruise settings, and faux wood trim dresses up the dash and doors. A sunroof, power passenger seat, security system, and MP3-compatible player are optional. A split-fold bench seat for the front row accommodates three people, albeit uncomfortably, up front.

The L stands for luxury in the 2007 Buick Lucerne CXL, a step up in features and comforts from the base model CX. The 2007 Lucerne CXL V6 comes with a 3.8-liter, 197-hp V6 engine and only a 4-speed automatic transmission. ABS brakes, traction control, dual front-side and front and rear head airbags are standard. The full-size sedan has seating for five or six, if you replace the front bucket seats with a benchs seat. The rear seats feature an armrest pass-through to the trunk.

New this year is standard OnStar with Turn-by-Turn function. The 2007 Lucerne CXL V6 adds onto the base features with leather upholstery, bigger 17-inch tires, heated mirrors, a 6-way power passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal remote, MP3-compatible CD player, and rain-sensing wipers. You also have an extra option with the CXL -- heated and cooled seats. Various packages add a navigation system, heated steering wheel, chrome wheels and grille, and a security system. Owners say the sedan is quiet, comfortable, and love all the features, particularly the heated steering wheel. More power and a bit more room are desired.

The 2007 Buick Lucerne CXL V8 is a carbon copy of the CXL V6 in terms of features, but it does have a bigger and more powerful V8 engine to enhance performance of this full-size luxury sedan. The roomy 2007 Lucerne CXL V8 marks the return of the V8 to the Buick lineup. It is a 4.6-liter engine that hits 275-hp with a 4-speed automatic only.

It is identical to the CXL V6 in every way, except that it has the option of StabiliTrak stability control in addition to the already standard traction control, ABS brakes, dual front-side and rear head airbags, daytime running lights, electronic brakeforce distribution, and tire pressure monitor. Comfort-wise, the 2007 Lucerne CXL V8 comes with the full array of power features, leather upholstery, heated mirrors, auto-dimming mirror, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, universal remote, and faux wood trim. Heated seats, steering wheel, and mirrors and a navigation system are optional.

The top-line trim in the 2007 Buick Lucerne lineup is the CXS. This full-size sedan features the 4.6-liter, 275-hp V8 and a 4-speed automatic transmission. It has more features than all the other trims and sits on bigger 18-inch alloy wheels. In addition to all the equipment on the lower trims, the 2007 Lucerne CXS adds heated seats, memory settings for the 8-way power front seats and heated mirrors, a heated steering wheel, and satellite radio. A leather-wrapped wheel and faux wood trim makes the inside look more elegant than it is. Leather seats are standard.

For safety features, the CXS comes standard with StabiliTrak and magnetic ride control suspension. This is in addition to the ABS brakes, traction control, tire monitor, daytime running lights, and front-side airbags. A navigation system is optional, as is parking assist, sunroof and remote start. Owners of the 2007 Lucerne CXS love all the heated features and feel the ride is quiet and smooth. Gas mileage is disappointing.
