Good Reliable Engine — dislike: the expensive maintenance; some of the parts in the engine are not necessary(brake booster pump). door handle brake due to poor engineering. headlights adjustment, good idea, poor execution like: the ratio of engine size to car size---->fast acceleration. I would expect more from German engineers Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: small to the engine size therefore it is fast. very cute. Cons: expensive to maintain, usually has to be taken to dealer. bucket seats in the back. front seats not comfortable. considering it is a German car it is some what a disappointment ![]() Looking for a Used Beetle in your area?CarGurus has 8,183 nationwide Beetle listings starting at $1,600. |

Great — love my car with the top down or up!!! my car is a 5 cylinder, I have plenty of power and speed. So far, I have had no problems.....just looking for a antifreeze other than the GP12, cannot find the Pentosin in any stores. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: easy to drive and great on fuel. Cons: don't have any. |

Really A Qute Convertible — We'd like this car since it was presented. The accelaration is just fun with the car and the transmission and power is really enough for this convertible. It's just a great car to enjoy the sun and the feeling of a remodeled classic from the 60's. Pros: nice design Cons: small trunk |

Fun Little Car, Reliable, German Made. — I really enjoy the get up and go of this vehicle; that is what really sold me. It's incredibly fun to drive. The handling is responsive and so is the engine. I always turn on my heated seats at night after work, it feels nice- like a heating pad for a long commute home. It stinks that I have to pay $80 every time I get my oil changed, but these cars do deserve full synthetic so I shouldn't argue that point. They hold like 13 courts of oil, which was really surprising to me. The fuel economy is nice for sure. I'm thoroughly surprised at how well the leather hold up too- I've put dogs and cages and everything else in my car and that leather still looks new. Every now and then I like to turn fast, stomp the gas, hit the brakes fast and my car is still very happy with me. My Ford fell apart when I drove it like a mad man. The Germans did well here. I can also say that I've never been pulled over in my bug, I think it's because it's adorable and even when it's going 85 in a 70, it still looks non-threatening. Honestly- think about how many bugs you've seen pulled over... Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Super Cute!, fun to drive, accelerates well, handles well, comfortable, fuel efficient, fun color, decent cargo space thanks to the hatch, safe, bells and whistles are nice, cool flipping key, monsoon stereo, leather holds up well. Cons: Really Expensive to service, highway noise, a lot of places don't stock parts well-but they do carry them, causes people to physically hit each other (slug bug...this could be a pro.) |

Really Fun Car — The car has been great while we have owned it. It gave us no propblems. It looks great, looks even better with the top down. Very comfortable and has nice features. Gas mileage is great (25-30MPG). Oil changes were inexpensive and replacing the tires didn't cost much either. The car has surprising pick up considering it does not have a turbo charger. Braking and handling are great, almost like a little go-kart, really fun to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Great looks, great gas mileage, great reliability, great handling, smooth ride. Super fun with the top down. Cons: Small cargo space and not the best family car. |

Beggiber's Car — It was my first car and it was a good car for the beginner. I drove the crap out of without worrying; I never got a speeding ticket in that car – just coz it doesn’t go fast. After owning that car I got the message to do not buy convertibles anymore. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Safe car Cons: Slow |

Good, Very Pleased — This car looks modern, fun for a first car. It rides good, not an off road car. Good price for car and quality. Easy to maintain. Very fun to drive around in, or to take on long trips. It stands out from the rest, it looks nothing like your ordinary car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good gas mileage, fun to drive Cons: Anytime something messes up in takes for ever to get the part to fix. |

The only american spec. gecko green Beetle at the big (300 cars) Beetle party in Germany last summer. Pros: Nice to drive, makes you look good Cons: Nothing really |
