The 2005 Toyota Tundra brought a few changes from the 2004 model, including a stronger base model, now a 4.0-liter V6, with the step-up being a 4.7-liter V8. Reviewers still complained about the bland exterior and relatively cramped interior on the base model, but the engine seemed to appease some that had continued to complain about the weak base engine.
Conversely, drivers and passengers alike love the quiet and nimble ride. The V8 stays quiet, even when approaching its 282 horsepower capacity. Reviewers have continued to cite moody brakes and mileage as problems, yet most seem to really enjoy their trucks.

March 3, 2008Love the truck, good power considering its size, plenty of room, good on fuel. It is a good all around truck. I bought it for about $18,000 at around 63,000 miles on it. It is a very fun truck. Great Choice.

October 13, 2021Great looking and best handling truck I've ever driven, Sometime I forget that I'm driving a truck. Room for back and front passengers very good. Hauling my trailer I sometimes forget it's back there. More than enough power unless you have a huge load to pull.
December 31, 2012Does everything I want or need and doesn't drink gas like a tank. No mechanical problems, no warranty issues, no problems of any type. This is a properly built truck that doesn't really drive like most othe trucks I've owned.
December 26, 2008Awesome truck but wish I got better mileage. The only problem I have had is with the AC (o-ring cracked and leaked the refrigerant out) Toyota fixed it for free, even out of warranty. Fun off and on the road.

May 23, 2020Truck is a great running truck and is dependable. Has very strong engine and is very fast and powerful. Truck is a small v8 so gets really good gas mileage. Maintience cost is very good being it is a Toyota so they hold there value as well.
