The Titan is large -- hence the name. It is Nissan's full-size pickup offering that competes admirably against the American pickups, and even rates higher for interior space and torque performance. Hauling capacity is top-notch, while the inside comes well equipped for both comfort and convenience.
The 2005 Titan comes in either King Cab or Crew Cab. Kings have a 6.5-foot bed, where the Crews have a 5.5 bed. The extra foot is used in the cabin for more legroom. Both are available in either rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive, in base XE, SE, or luxury LE trims. The engine is a 5.6-liter, DOHC, 32-valve V8 that hits 305-hp and can tow up to 9,500 pounds. ABS, tire monitor, and Brake Assist are standard, and there is an optional off-road package. Additions for 2005 include a dampened tailgate for smoother opening, and active head restraints in the front seats. The Crew Cab gets a power rear window with defrost.
XE is the base model and comes with 17-inch tires, while the SE and LE feature 18-inch tires. Luxury LE comes with power leather seats, memory settings, a backup sensor, and an optional DVD player. Both King and Crew cabs have two rows of seating, where the back row flips up for extra storage space and provides hooks for groceries. In the King Cab, the rear doors are reverse-hinged and open nearly flat against the truck for easier loading access. The cargo bed can be outfitted with rails, positionable cleats, cargo trays, and a sliding toolbox. A dealer installed spray-in bedliner prevents rust and keeps cargo from moving around.
The 2005 Titan displays great power and hauling capability, say owners. The 4WD adds some weight, but performs well on rough roads. Interior space is roomy and comfortable. Complaints mention early brake wear, though repairs were promptly addressed by Nissan. Gas mileage isn't great, seat comfort could be better, and drivers report rattling noises around the front end.
My Air recirculate, air condition and rear window defrost lights are on, the fan will not run, can not control the heat, position setting for air are all not working. Sometime the fan will run when you first start up but nothing else. Hot air is coming out when driving with or without the fan running.
2005 Titan. It got hot ( hose blew) and I shut it off. I had it towed to my house, and now it doesn't register any electrical power. The battery is less than 3 months old, , but I tried to jump it anyway.
Hi, I have a Nissan Titan 2005 and I had it in water briefly up to the seats about 5 years ago. It has been running fine but now the transmission is calling to shift too early. I took it to a transmission shop and they said my transmission is fine. It appears to be an electrical problem but I have not been able to solve. Thoughts?
