Chrysler had overhauled the Sebring coupe for the previous model year, and in 2004, the sedan and convertible were revised. Noticeable changes include a redesigned front end and new wheel designs. The Coupe interior was altered a bit further, beyond last year's changes. These changes were highlighted by a new dash layout and instrument panel.
Chrysler unveiled 14 Sebring variations in 2004, up from eight in 2003, with six convertibles, five sedans, and three coupes. The entire Sebring lineup has been rebadged for this year, as the prior style names are replaced by the Base (STD) and Touring trims. The Limited finish continues, and is now available on all body styles. The convertible is offered in STD, GTC, LX, Limited, Touring and Touring Platinum Series styles. All the same trims except the GTC are also available on the sedan. The coupe is offered as STD, Limited, and Limited Platinum.
There are three Sebring engines. The STD models for all three body styles are powered by a 2.4 liter four cylinder, which delivers 150 horsepower and 160 pound-feet of torque. A manual transmission can only be paired with this engine on the coupe. Fuel economy is 22/30 mpg for the automatic and 24/32 mpg for the manual. A 3.0 liter V-6 is found under the hoods of the Limited Coupe and Limited Platinum Series Coupe. This is the most powerful Sebring engine, generating 200 horsepower and 205 pound-feet of torque. The most common Sebring engine is the 200 horsepower, 2.7 liter V-6, which powers the GTC, LX, Touring, and Touring Platinum Convertibles, as well as the LX, Limited, Touring, and Touring Platinum sedans.
Buyers have continued to express satisfaction with the performance of the Sebring V-6 models, especially the 3.0 liter/five-speed manual pairing on the Limited coupe. Chrysler is quite generous with the standard features on all models, and owners have been most pleased with the user-friendly controls, power top, and the premium audio upgrade.
Complaints continue about the overall durability and quality of interior materials. Drivers report that some of the ergonomics, like the cup holders, are a bit awkward. Many seem to be in agreement about substandard Chrysler service, and owners report several frustrating trips to the shop to address minor but persistent problems.

October 14, 2014This little car has over 31000 miles as of this writing. It is solid, handles well and is quiet on the road. The little 4 cylinder engine does OK for what it is and gives 29 mpg highway and about 22 around town. Since it is my first convertible, I very much enjoy driving with the top down on a nice day.
July 25, 2007I loved the appearance of the car, the smooth-running engine and the comfortable seats. I averaged about 26 miles per gallon overall, which was decent. The car handled well, but did have a somewhat stiff suspension, which was noticable on bumpy roads.

June 3, 2020Solid car. No real problems other than the idiot who designed it put the battery under the engine compartment. You change the battery by removing the front wheel and, of course, you need a lift. The car runs great and is remarkable comfortable.
December 28, 2008Just put the top down and start cruising with the easy, power up/down button. Classic, sexy, body style, accelerates great with the V6 engine, brakes well, and the Touring edition really hugs the road! I invested many weekends looking online, and test driving options, before we found the 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible being the best value, easiest to operate, and good looking! The back seat, for a convertible, is really good. It can seat four, very comfortably. That was a major selling point! We've driven ours for only 80,000 miles and it has been mechanically reliable. We did use it on freeways and commuting to work. We love the top down, ease of operating, and the V6 engine. I'm not sure we would change anything!
May 23, 2014gorgeous; unique color, reliable, as with all convertibles, allignment may cause shimmy when driving slow, should sell quickly, knock on wood. Car has given my aunt joy for many years, it is her 3rd Chrysler Sebring Limited Convertible. God Bless.
September 8, 2012In my estimation, the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Ltd model is without a doubt the best all-round mid priced auto that I have ever driven. It offers comfort, economical transportation, reliability, and possesses the manumatic transmission that you have in the more expensive Mercedes Benz autos. It is also the only adult convertible that offers leg room for its rear seat passengers. In actual fact in 2004 Chrysler was owned by Daimler,, a European company that offered excellent automobiles. I owned a Sebring Ltd a few years ago, but unfortunately it was burned in my driveway by an arsonist during the night. I sincerely hope to replace it with one of the same models if I am fortunate to find one with low mileage and well serviced. The only thing that this car is missing is a built-in GPS. The only other convertibles that I would consider would be and Audi or BMW four seater, but they are both much more expensive.
February 25, 2021I liked evreything about it and nothing to dislike. It looks awesome. very comfortable to drive and sit in. quiet , sophisticated , sounds real good. accelerates very fast , brakes are good and work fine, handling is very good, although she tends to slide and drift. extremely safe, as long as you are in control. very fun to drive. that's all i do.
