The 2006 model year was one of transition for the Chrysler Sebring. It was the last year of a long first generation, and a all new Sebring would arrive for 2007. In 2006, Chrysler discontinued the Sebring coupe, and this was the last year in which the convertible would be offered. A performance-focused TSi sedan was also new this year.
All Sebring models are available with either of the two engines. The base power plant is a 2.4 liter DOHC inline four, which provides 150 horsepower and 160 pound-feet of torque. An optional 2.7 liter V-6 offers 200 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. A four-speed automatic is the only transmission available with either engine. Fuel economy is 22/30 mpg for the four cylinder engine, and 21/28 mpg for the V-6.
The Sebring convertible and sedan evolved from the previous Chrysler Cirrus, while the now-discontinued coupe was largely based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Since the Sebring became an exclusive make for Chrysler in 2001, many different trim variations have come and gone.
For 2006, there are eight Sebring models available. Both the sedan and convertible are offered in Base, Limited, and Touring trims. The GTC trim is exclusive to the convertible, while the new TSi style is applied only to the sedan. The Base and Touring trims are similarly equipped, complete with power windows and door locks, cruise control, a CD audio system and air conditioning. The Limited gets a power driver's seat, fog lamps, a trip computer, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter. On the Limited Convertible, a premium Infinity sound system is also included. The TSi is the top-of-the-line sedan, adding leather and wood trim, 17-inch wheels, and a few additional performance and appearance enhancements. The GTC's suspension is tuned a bit stiffer than the other convertible models.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2006 Chrysler Sebring have mixed feelings. Many drivers love its fun driving experience, comfort, and style, often praising its performance and handling. Highlights include features like the automatic start and good sound system. On the downside, several people mentioned reliability issues, poor engine performance, and various defects, with some expressing frustration over maintenance problems."
this car is amazing, fun and elegant at same time! the performance and the response when accelerate is simply perfect and you feel the addrenaline in your veins when driving fast. A perfect car for get fun the whole day.
July 25, 2009Love my car - best investment I ever made! Runs like a top, handles like it's on rails... There is nothing bad to say about it. I've owned everything from a minivan to a Camaro and a lot in-between... this car is the most fun, classy - not too flashy! Mopar RULES, Baby!
September 18, 2008The only reason I bought this car is because I had to get out of my Mercedes and this was the only car I could get my parents to agree on. The top whistled, the steering was crappy, the brakes were horrible, and the engine was too small. I will never have another Chrysler and will never buy another car from Leglue Chrysler again.

January 10, 2008I enjoyed driving this vehicle. It was great on gas and was very reliable. Minus the oil light sensor being an common issue with this model car, it really was a good car. I would buy another Sebring given the opportunity.
April 19, 2015our 06 sebring has been a very reliable and fun to drive. the 2.7 does everything want and its a gas miser. We love the room in the cabin and trunk.I would not hesitate to buy a new one. My only complaint is i wish it had more than one power supply plug ins.We have it serviced regulary at our dealer ship and it has never cost us an arm and a leg
December 29, 2009We bought this car a couple of months ago--a black 2004 Limited with a tan top. So far, we love it, and since we live in Florida, we drive with the top down most of the time. We like the looks, the car is comfortable, and the power is plenty for us. The car is not a sports car, but a touring car, and one of the best. And on the Limited anyway, there are a number of helpful features, such as a trip computer with MPH, etc. Plus ABS and traction control. I would recommend this car to anyone who needs a comfortable four-seat convertible.
December 4, 2009The Sebring is fun to drive. The only other convertible I like more is the Mercedes convertible but since that is out of my price range, this vehicle is well worth the price. I would not recommend this car for a young driver. There is too much temptation to speed, especially on the open roads.
January 15, 2014Overall the Sebring is a good family car. It's roomy and hauls three children with no hassle. It has been very reliable thus far, but we are starting to see signs of the battery wearing down. It doesn't get up and go like I think it should but that's probably just used to my Riviera.
November 28, 2014We liked the look of the 2007 remodeled Sebring. It looked really nice, it drove really well, very comfortable and it got great gas-mileage. We were disappointed in the engine/drive train components seemed low quality. Power/torque was lacking and the engine rev was very noisy. Because of the low quality of engine and drive train components we did not keep the vehicle.
February 5, 2014Pretty much liked everything about the car. It handles great on the highway. Has brand new tires, wheel alignment, and high grade oil recently changed. Fantastic car awaits someone that needs reliable and fun transportation. It's awesome with the sunshine!
