2001 Buick Regal GS Sedan FWDReview

Buick Regal — I have run into barriers and snowdrifts with my car.... all the warning lights are on.... it probably will spontaneously combust soon. Overall it has stood up to the abuse fairly well. This has been a great car for long road trips as the leather seats and sunroof are nice amenities. The suspension lends itself to highways but almost rolls over in the corners, jk, its better than 90% of SUV's. The supercharger is great when passing! Ride a bike, Drive a beater!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Supercharged for extra passing power!

Cons: It doesn't have a 360 degree bumper.

One Of The Few Solid American Cars Left. — The Buick Regal has been a solid car since... well since forever. It's not really great in any one way, but it is good in just about every way. It's got a strong motor, it's comefortable, and it really doesn't cost that much. If you are the type of person who has no clue what they want in a car, buy a Buick Regal and you'll probably be happy. Hell, check out a Buick anyway- you might be surprised.

Pros: Good quality, good price, good motor, good room, comfortable

Cons: Not hip like other lux vehicles.

This Car Is A Good Family Car; My Brother In Law Owns A 1998 Gs! Fine Shape! — This car seems to grip the road a little better than its sister vehicle, the Century (bigger tires have to do with this). It has many storage places in the front, and the cup holders are conveniently located between the driver and passenger.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Power, ease of care, sporty look, Trunk space, impact resistance, present battery still lasting for over 2 years.

Cons: AC climate control with passenger issue: Driver's side warmer than passenger side. Back seat needs more legroom. headliner around the sunroof opening a little loose

Hot Looking Car, Reliable — overall this is a great car, lots of fun stuff that I will look for again in my next car including the trunk access from the back seats, auto lights, heated seats, sun roof, OnStar. Im also loving the silver color.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: love the back seat access into the trunk and the automatic lights.
OnStar, auto windows, auto seats, tilt wheel, cruise, defrost, tape player and cd player, leather seats, traction control, keyless entry

Cons: personally dont like the leather seats in my cold climate , dont like the button controls on the temperature settings and I dont like the tail on the trunk (I sometimes like to take bikes)

broken odometer, broken heated seats, finicky sun roof (works but you have to wiggle it), previous owner had gps screwed into dash.. left holes and pried edge of air bag

I would describe this car as a muscle or sports car hidden inside a grandma car body. It takes off and accelerates very fast. Response time and the amount of power it has is impressive. Strong engine. I feel confident it would pull a trailer if you wanted it to. Interior is roomy and seats are very comfortable but have worn out quick. Middle console gets a thumbs down though. Cup holder compartment cheaply made and broke out leaving an open ugly hole that swallows things. Also the ashtray and dash compartment are squished behind the gear shift and difficult to access when its in park. Back seat has a drop down cup holder compartment in the middle that I do like, plus a small access door into the trunk hidden behind it that can be locked and unlocked with your door key. I have put a lot of miles on this car and I cant help but drive it like Im on a race track. And in the 2 years Ive had it, the only repairs Ive had to make are replacing brake pads, tires, and a water pump. Im pretty happy with this car, except no one knows Im driving a car comparable to a 2001 Mustang thanks to the body style it was given.

"Probably the body style and how smooth it performed without any noticeable stress on it. It 100% belongs on a race track. You get in it with a smile and get out with twinkling eyes wide open, heart pounding, and a smile the size of your face lol!! "

Test Drive Of The Buick Regal Gs 6 Speed Manual By Ilregal

I frankly didn't like anything about this Regal. It's not a Regal in the sense of the name. It is a Opel made for the U.S. and named the Regal GS. The Euro version with the actual Opel insignia on it... Read More
