I'm a GM kind of guy, cut my teeth on Chevys and Oldsmoblies, in my opinion, Detroit Iron , has always been the best. This Malibu has great handling even in the snow, no problems with the trans and it holds an alignment very well. Overall, it's holding together real well, considering it's age.Nov 08, 2014

This is a really good car. It accelerates well, it has good braking, and it handles really good. Chevrolet built it well because there are no leaks, squeaks, and it is reliable. It was designed well and it is comfortable to ride in. It was fairly fuel efficient but still fun to drive. Got around 33MPG with it. Should have kept it and not got the Rendezvous!Jul 07, 2011

i wish itt went faster, no really, it dont go past 170km/h and to tell you the truth, i wish it went maybe, 25 more kms. but beyond that its acceleration is perfect. not to mention handling!
the interior is nice. but i dont like the beige colour. i might add some dark in it. the exterior colour as well. the original paint is great. not too much rust at all.
fun factor: i "accidently" jumped a dirt pile on the road in a construction zone and went flying. amazingly nothing broke. i was lucky. as much as it was fun i dont think i will do that again.

this car is great, it handles well and looks great when taken care of.......
since i have purchased this car i have only needed to have an oil change and will shortly need to fix my TPS
Since I purchased this car used it had it wear an tears but other then from common use their is nothing wrong
my insurance is fairly cheap for full coverage and gas mileage is great as well as cost for filling the tank

My wife bought this car while I was deployed. As soon as I got home I cut off the muffler and put a K&N air filter in. I then added a Panasonic deck and matching 4" x 6" 's in the front doors and 6" x 9" 's on the deck lid.Jun 21, 2010

It accelerate quickly. The brakes are shot. And it handles fine when there is stearing fluid added. The car was free.My grandpa bought t for me. Its silver and it had one previous owner so its in mint condition. It a fun and perfect car for me and my family.Feb 07, 2010

It's a simple, generic car with the twist of having a sporty 3100 V6 under the hood. It takes a beating and keeps on going, even after 166k. It's features are amazing for their day, and it still outstrips some new vehicles. The stereo is a stock option and is amazingly rich and deep. Overall, it's not a Maserati, but it's well worth the money for a commuter sedan with some fun inside.Aug 18, 2009

hey guys i was just wondering if this is normal. When I accelerate promptly, when i come to change to the 2 nd gear the transmission knock a little. The weird thing is that it only do this on the 2nd gear. Any clues?
Other than that the car is sick, perfect finition, smooth valsing suspensions, good brakes, top basic sound system, full electric, great price, still good consumption for a 3.1 v6. (I put around 40 l per week)Perfect and safe for a student. Jul 28, 2009

I love this car. It's great on gas and definitely has great power, for a v6. Very reliable too. Everything's good about this car, just a small paint issue near the gas door. Seems to be a malibu issue, it has rusting near it. Rest of the paint is still good. Only issue I have is the lack of any 'good' aftermarket stuff. Did add clear parking light covers, and it has an aftermarket spoiler on the trunk. But not too much out there that doesn't make it look like a ricer. Jul 11, 2009

So much better than it's rated to be. Performs so well. Good acceleration, handling, braking. Very few repairs-all of which are inexpensive because the car is made in America. Looks much better than my boss' accord. Good on gas and powerful. Love driving it. My next car will be a Malibu!Jan 09, 2009

build quality- pretty good,only repaired from hitting two deer
apperance- looks like a normal car not crappy, interior is all matching
cost of ownership- ok gas mileage around 20 mpg

A very Nice Car with great acceleration and braking. The handling is great and can turn on a dime. It has had a few problems, such as the ABS doesn't work and the engine light comes on from time to time but it doesn't affect driving. It's a nice looking car both inside and out. My first car and the car I learned how to drive in. It was defective and broke down at least 3 times a month. I called it Negative Nixon. When it worked it was amazing. When it didn't.... well at least it looked good sitting in the garage. hahahaha. I had some great memories in that car. I hate driving this car, but it is pretty fast for a stock sedan, and very practical. It has had normal wear and tear but still rips pretty good. Its really good for a front wheel drive car for drifting in the snow.Jan 29, 2008

Reactivation of 2001 Malibu alarm
I was given a 2001 Malibu that had no keys, because the lady lost them. I bought a new ignition and reset the alarm so the car would start. I now need to reactivate the alarm so I can program the new remote? How do I do that? I tried putting the key in, holding the unlock and turning the key 2 times from on to off but nothing is happening? When car is running, it'll beep once at random times as well? Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
