Honda Accord showed a newer, sleeker look for 2001, with a broad hood in the front and new taillight design in the rear. Make no mistake: this is still the reliable family automobile. No "sport" performance in this vehicle, yet great acceleration when needed in tight traffic - along with excellent gas mileage. The price is right; the interior comfortable for family and/or groceries, and driving is almost effortless. This car is available with a six-cylinder engine (automatic transmission only), though the four-cylinder package is more than enough for everyday usage.

What owners say
"Overall, drivers are quite satisfied with the 2001 Honda Accord. They love its reliability, solid performance, and fuel economy. Many appreciate the strong engine performance and smooth handling, along with its practicality and comfort. However, some owners noted issues like a bumpy ride due to poor suspension and a weak transmission. Cost of ownership is also a common theme, with drivers mentioning high repair costs for some parts."
Acceleration is okay for a four banger. Transmission can sometimes be in wrong gear. Usually pretty smooth. Good build quality, not bad looking, and pretty comfortable. Good on gas too.
July 12, 2008My Honda Accord sedan v6 2001 passed 400001 miles last week, yes 400001. The engine is still very smooth and quite almost like new, it does not take oil between changes. Of course my next car will be Honda Accord.
January 10, 2010Did own this car for 12 years. There are no major problems with this year Accord. A very nice and reliable family car. Very spacious inside with all the luxury features built in. It even this car got both worlds for entertainment, with CD & Cassette player (old memories :) I would recommend this car.

February 28, 2013I bought this car used from a dealership and wow!, even though it's 8 years old it looks and drives as though it is new. it had 143,000 miles on it when i got it. the motor a 3.0L V6 has tons of power that allows not to get bogged down in traffic. the seats are nice all the little things that honda dose to make the car what it is are right where you want them. nice cluster and smooth trany even if its an auto. one thing i could use is a roof which i did not get. this would allow the car to seam bigger than it is. with a nice set of winter rubber im sure this will be able to get me from the mnt and home with no problems. this car is the reason honda is what it is today.
November 20, 2009Excellent car. Not too lavish, but simple and beautiful.
April 22, 2007My new car that i bought from my sister with 95k. Performance: Quick and Smooth pretty much sums it up. V6 engine is silent at idle but makes a nice intake howl when the tach sweeps past 3500rpm and when the VTEC kicks in there is a noticeable surge of acceleration. Build Quality: at 105k the interior looks like it has half that mileage. A couple of squeaks and rattles but not as bad as my old camry, Very tight construction overall. Appearance: I added a rear spoiler, fog lights, and moonroof visor and the car still looks sharp to this day, even tho the design is from 1998 its still a very nice shape. And it looks sporty with my honda accessories. I think this one looks better than 2003-2005 sedans. Cost of Ownership: Needed some maintaince last year because of age but has never left me stranded. I am concerned with the weak automatic transmissions but mine is the original so im hoping it will be fine. Gas mileage is 18 mpg city and 26 highways which is not bad for a V6. Fun Factor: Steering is very precise and give a very good amount of road feel, unlike toyotas that have very numb steering. Engine sounds fantastic when revved and is super smooth all the way to the 6300 rpm redline. Drives much smaller than it is and i enjoy racing people at stoplights ;)
February 23, 2010best accord till date in design, maintenance and comfort with overall charm. outperform a "e class mercedes" in cost, looks and maintenace cost too. best comfort ride till date without a hitch of any shocks repairs on unhealthy indian roads.
August 3, 2009It's a love hate relationship. I would love to replace it, but it just won't break. 3 years, 75,000kms and nothing but regular maintenance. It never give the impression of being a fast car, and it isn't. But comfortable, Capable, and all around the most reliable car I have ever owned.
December 28, 2008Honda's are know for their excellent fuel economy and lasting power. They are guaranteed to 5000 miles, their maintenance costs are comparatively low. They absolutely live up to their reputation. They are costly to purchase, even the older models, but that is because they are such a good buy and they are so reliable. I would always always always recommend buying a Honda, you really cannot go wrong. I've owned mine for 13 years, it is coming up on 300,000 miles and is still running great! Amazing car.
February 7, 2014The acceleration is moderate. It has 180 horses for a 4 cylinder. The braking is excellent with anti-lock brakes. It handles good for a Sedan! Well its a Honda so it is build to last. The gas mileage is great and so it is very Economical.
