The Honda Accord enters the 2022 model year as the fourth best-selling sedan in America, just behind the Civic. Honda managed to sell over 114,000 units in a challenging 2021.
The 2022 Honda Accord is available in the following trim levels: LX, Sport, sport SE, EX-L, Sport 2.0T, and Touring 2.0T. There’s also an Accord Hybrid, covered in a separate review. The Accord Hybrid got a new Sport trim for 2022.
The base engine for the 2022 Honda Accord is a LX, Accord Sport, Accord Sport SE, and Accord EX-L is a 1.5-liter, turbocharged inline four-cylinder making 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. In the LX and EX-L trim, this engine delivers 30 mpg combined, while in the Sport and Sport SE trims, it averages 29 mpg combined.
The Accord Sport 2.0T and the Accord Touring 2.0T are both equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine making 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0T engine provides 22 mpg combined, according to EPA estimates.
The Accord LX, Accord Sport, Accord Sport SE, and Accord EX-L all have a continuously variable transmission, while the Accord Sport 2.0T and Accord Touring 2.0T both have a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Every Accord trim features standard Honda Sensing, a suite of technology including adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, collision-mitigation braking system, road-departure mitigation system, lane-keeping assist system, and traffic-sign recognition. All Accord trims also include a multiview rear camera and eight airbags. The blind-spot information system and cross traffic monitor are reserved for the EX-L trim level and above. Parking sensors are included in the EX-L and Touring trims, and low speed braking control is standard on Touring.
All Accord trims include Bluetooth connectivity and an eight-inch display. The Accord LX and Accord Hybrid have a 160-watt audio system with four speakers, Accord Sport has 180 watts with eight speakers, and EX-L and Touring trims have a 450-watt audio system with 10 speakers, including a subwoofer. All Accord trims include wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the Accord EX-L, Sport 2.0T, and Touring all add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2022 Honda Accord LX starts at $25,470. The Accord Sport starts at $27,930, Sport SE at $29,420, EX-L at $31,790, Sport 2.0T at $32,610, and Touring 2.0T at $37,400.
