I'm Retired And This Feels Like The Luxury Car I Always Wished I Had — Haven't had to do any maintenance yet so I don't know how expensive that will be. Right now I'm getting 22 mi. in the city. Great acceleration, braking and handling. So quiet I sometimes don't realize it's running. Have to use cruise control to be sure I don't go over the lower speed limits (30, 40, 45)!

Pros: leather seats, rearview mirror automatically dims when car lights are behind you at night, huge trunk, can control air/heat by dialing in temperature

    Cons: two doors, V6

Awesome — i hate that its a coupe.......im more of a Sedan lover... just that i hate about it inside space it pretty good large trunk space though. i dont know what to dislike ore than than if it had 4 doors i would keep it!

Pros: this car has lots of power to it with its V6 3.0L Engine. Fast acceleration, Great on gas. A whole lot of stopping power 4 wheel braking system. has a sporty look to it. quiet idling "love it".......ilove the look of this car very comfortable ride for a 2000 make you want to sleep..lol. dont have any noises or rust never been repainted ..... good on gas easy to maintain this car is clean as a whistle

    Cons: doesn't have 4 doors!

Overall A Great, Fun To Drive Car. — The Toyota Solara is a great car to own. Nice appearance inside and out. Fun and comfortable to drive. Great gas mileage. Stereo system sounds great & ac is very cold. What I dislike? Can't figure out why it's turning over but won't start. I go thru back tires super fast. Wish it was a 4 door instead of 2. Very hard to troubleshoot. But pretty easy to work on. Parts are a bit expensive.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Like the outside appearance. Fun to drive when running correctly. Handles great. Good gas mileage.

    Cons: Parts are too expensive.

Quick For Having A 4 Cyl. — I have had it since 07, and hardly any mechanical issues. Its a good get around car for those mundane trips to the store. :) Now my husband drives it back and forth to his job. The only thing I've noticed is that it is horrid in the NY snow/weather.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It was cheap, sporty, and great on gas. I bought it to travel back and forth to work.

Cons: Haven't really had any issues with it, besides that its small.

Sport Coupe Within The Budget — Good transportation car bought second hand for college kid driver. Nice and smooth driving condition. Low and easy maintenance cost, perhaps due to smaller engine size (4 cylinders) and fuel economy is very good if drive within the posted sign.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Nice sportive appearance (like tail light best), fuel economy is very well if driven responsibly, smooth driving, comfortable front seats and easy access panels features.

Cons: the rear seat kind of tight and definitely not a good family car.

Read If You Want. — if you get one, customise it unless you like the feel of a Camry with 2 doors. If you're looking for one, look for the V6 option with the manual. It's either this, or the convertible top, that makes a Solara a Solara

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: it's fun to build up

Cons: it's expensive and rare to find parts for, to build up

I Recommend This Car To Anyone Who Wants A Comfortable Safe And Reliable Ride. — Love this car! Acceleration is great. Car is solid and well built. Interior styling and comfort is perfect but could use a bit better stereo. Gas mileage is surprisingly great for a V6 and maintenance is easy to perform. I drive 2 hours to and from work on the 4-lane highway, this car makes the drive relaxing, comfortable and safe.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: comfortable, reliable, safe and good looks

    Cons: can't think of any!

Good, Reliable Daily Driver — This car has two doors and a sharp look that sets it apart from the regular Camry. Unfortunately, it has the same uninspired handling as one. It has decent passing power and brakes, but the handling assures you never mistake this for a sportscar. Toyota really is the Japanese Buick.

Pros: Looks good, reliable, decently quick

    Cons: Handles like a Camry
