Eclipse — Beautiful car, and definitely one of my all time favorites. After falling in love with the small bump that was offset on the hood, I had to get one. It was always an awesome car and being able to have the top down and jump inside was a major plus. Pros: Great handling and decent speed Cons: Not really any |

Convertible Fun With The Rigth Amount Of Power — the acceleration on the car is pretty quick pulls pretty good the braking could be better for the sports car that is havent had to do any repairs to it yet the appearance is both nice and agressive on the inside and the out side the interior is alot better than my camaro its a cheap car to own good on gas and insurance and its a very fun drive Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: what i think is awesome about it is that its convertible Cons: front wheel drive and drum brakes |

Our Awesome Car! — This car is great but it definitely needs some work. Needs a paint job really bad...it's just got a primer on it lol. There's also an exhaust leak and some other problems that the hubby and I are gonna fix. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: The whooshing sound that the Turbo makes when I accelerate! Cons: um...no comment |

Eclipse — The eclipse is a beautiful car, and it handles phenomenally well in bad weather, but after a while, the cars are just ready to die and require maintenance. With the convertible top, you have to be concerned with leaking into the seat, but overall it's a beautiful car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Look, handling in bad weather Cons: Need maintenance after years |

Fun — It really looks good for being 11 years old and has only 60,000 miles. The mitsu paint sucks for those years so its starting to show but i love the 2nd gen eclipses. but its slow and jay is always fixing it lol :( i wish it was a gst/x Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: convertable Cons: cheap interior and its not the turbo one :( |

Awesomeit's — It handles great and it's quick off the line. it loves to burn the tires through 1st and 2nd gear. It's fun to drive and nice to look at. Gets about 30/31 mpg. Aftermarket parts are cheap and easy to come by. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: fast and handles great Cons: requires a lot of care |

I Love My '98 Eclipse Spyder — I special ordered my Spyder in 1997 and I still absolutely love it. It is really sleek and is still the best looking Eclipse ever. The car has lots of power and handles great. The small turbo-charged engine is incredible. It has plenty of power and gets great mileage when I drive nice which is not very often ;). Pros: great performance and very cool looking Cons: Only negative is the very small back seat! |

Love It One Day, Not So Much The Next — This car really does look amazingly awesome, its looks instantly drew me in when I bought it. But then again, thats all it really ever had. It needs more power, a better interior, and for its parts to be cheaper, considering how flimsy the car is. The one notable performance aspect of the car was its ability to take a turn. This it does quite well on my mountain commute! Pros: Exotic looks, good handling Cons: flimsy build, needs more power |

Should Have Bought Another Crx Instead. Hell, I Think I Will. — 96-99 Eclipse nailed the bodystyle dead on. Its looks scream "I am a sports car". It is realtively responsive once the turbo builds boost. Too bad that's where the positive comments end. The car has spent more time on the shop lift than on the road. In 123000 miles it has received two transmission transplants, one engine transplant, one wiring harness transplant due to it catching on fire, 3 new convertible top motors, and the list goes on and on. Now it needs the convertible top frame needs replaced and Mitsu no longer sells parts. It leaks, too. What can I say. Pros: This bodystyle is undoubtfully the best looking Eclipse ever made. Cons: The convertible top leaks directly onto my crotch, making it look like I have trouble holding my fluids. |
