Would Buy It Back — she was a great car for a daily driver. didnt cost much to buy or build. huge aftermakrket with cheap priced upgrades and accessories. ran good, sounded good. looked good and was a popular body, made it easy to sell. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: fun and easy Cons: sold it |

Looking For Something Deacent On Gas And Fun To Drive Then This Is The Vehicle For You. — Love the way it looks, but would love it better if she was wet sanded again. Amazing handling on dry pavement but tn the snow she is okay. There are some minor repairs that were needed but now are fixed. The only things that make funny noises are the windows where it meets the top of the roof and the radar against the rear view mirror, but that's fixable. The Exterior is finished in a House of Kolors Black Diamond Metallic, and the interior is painted in a black, or the panels are fitted with black crushed velvet. Gas mileage is wonderful, at 23 in the city and 28 on the highway. Overall the Vehicle is amazing. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Convient. Cons: Not many things that can be done to it. |

Maintain It And It'll Treat Ya Right — decent car, never thought I'd need a motor replacement before 100k miles though, but it took a dump at 88k. not too expensive though, I sourced a low mileage motor for 1000 bucks so there it is in a nutshell. Love the performance, fun to drive, but maintain them. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: awesome car Cons: crankwalk |

Pocket Rocket Now Affordable. — Excellent performance on all turbo models with the Mitsubishi 4G63T engine, but avoid non-turbo models with their 420a Dodge Neon engine. Build quality is good, but the age of the car should be considered too, and the car's previous owners. These cars are popular now with 16-21 year olds and as such, are usually poorly cared for, beat on excessively and generally in much need of good maintenance. Typical rust points are on the strut towers, rocker panels, radiator core support and inside of the rear fenders. You can't beat the appearance of a 97-98 Eagle Talon, IMO the best looking DSM ever made. Gas mileage is very dependent on how heavy footed you drive, I averaged ~24 mpg with lots of city driving. The most fun to drive car I've owned. Manual transmission AWD models are rarer, but they're very tough to beat for budget performance and go-anywhere-in-any-weather ability. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Budget performance and tunability. Cons: Don't buy one if you can't turn a wrench or know nothing about fixing cars. |

Fun And Sporty! — I've owned a 1995 TSI and I currently own a 1997 TSI AWD. The 1997 I've owned for 11 years. I love this car! Its been a trouper for me. Currently I have plans to rebuild the engine and make some modifications. I haven't decided yet what all I will do. We'll see... Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Its a lot of fun! Cons: They don't make them anymore! |

Fast, Durable, Lightweight, 5-speed, Turbo. — I like the quality of the build. It hasn't fallen apart yet. The performance is good for 140hp. Cheap, hasn't cost me too much to fix. Very fun to drive handles well especially with the Kumho Ecstas I just put on. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Fast if you turbo it. Cons: I have it.. so its mine. go find something else. |

Great Car, Fun To Tweak, Tune And Modify — There is a bit of turbo lag that takes some getting used to. Stock automatic transmission and/or stock engine power doesn't allow for a burnout :( But car is sporty and fun to drive. Driver's seat is a little tight and the back seat is useless for people. She has a surprisingly large trunk and a bottomless windshield washer fluid reservoir. Seriously, I've tried to fill it up but gave up at 6 gallons!!! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Fun, sporty, and RARE in the midwest, bulletproof engine Cons: Not for tall or large people, comfortable for only driver and one passenger |

A Pretty Good Car — It could use do with more power. DSM's are very easy to modify but it´s quite expensive here and all parts have to be special ordered from USA. The only problems I've had are a couple of failing sensors. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: the look you get while driving this car in Iceland Cons: hard to get spare parts in iceland |

97 Eagle Talon — it is a pretty decent car... able to mod it out quite a bit. also, it comes with about 120 hp stock and after a turbo kit and cold air intake it can muster up about 300 to 350 horsepower. depending on what turbo. also with front and rear strut bars it increasing handling alot. Pros: fast, handling Cons: copycat |
