The 1996 Toyota Tercel didn’t see too many changes. The standard coupe got the option of cloth seats, whereas before it only came with vinyl. Other than that, the 1996 Tercel stayed largely the same.

The 1996 Toyota Tercel came in three trim levels. The coupe was offered as a base or DX model, and the sedan was available only as a DX. All shared the same 1.5-liter, 93 horsepower four cylinder engine. Not surprisingly, the 1995 Toyota Tercel got excellent gas mileage, at about 30 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.

Owners love their 1996 Toyota Tercels for their reliability and excellent gas mileage. Drivers admit that the car doesn’t have many frills, but most Tercel owners are just looking for something that gets them safely from point A to point B. Some drivers complain of the 1996 Tercel’s uncomfortable seats and small trunk.

this car did everything i hoped it would do.low cost to operate ,looked and drove great. i looked at many other cars before i bought this one. i was in the car biz for over 26 years and know how to spot a good one. Jun 09, 2012

The car is all about economics. This car is not made for performance, its pretty slow actually, but the cost of maintenance is next to zero. This doesn't have good handling or braking, but its ok. The materials made for this car are top notch, and the gas mileage its one of the bests around.Jul 01, 2010

Doesnt pull but what the heck its a tercel.... Its mint condition alll i did its a regular tune up I love the interrior but the outside its wtvr... I got it for cheap n lowmilage , really good on gas tho... reg maintenance is required of course... its a good reliable point a to point b car!!!Nov 01, 2008
