I owned this car for 3 years (99-01). It was a Cutlass Ciera S model. It had a 3.8 liter V-6 with a sequential fuel injection system in it. The car moved! I bought it for $200 and had to replace the timing chain to get it running. I dumped a lot of parts and money into this car. Front end was completely rebuilt. I had an odd problem with the rear drum brakes locking up though. I had to get rid of it in 2001. It started rotting away from the salt on the roads here in the Northeast, plus we were starting a family and the 2-door just didn't cut it. Was sad to see it go..Mar 23, 2014

This was my second car, its the best american car I've ever owned. It was very spacious, had good power under the hood, mint condition overall. The old man that sold it to me kept this thing clean and well maintained.Sep 07, 2009

likes:
-easy to parallel-park
-fun to drive
-nice color
-cool radio controls
-plush comfortable seating
dislikes:
-hard to adjust side mirrors
-rear passenger windows only went down halfway (child safety)
-glove compartment latch broke after a while.

Car stalls out
My car starts and runs but I have to use the brake and gas method and then if I stop it dies on me it runs for a while and then I'll shut off after about an hour or so like if it's not getting any more gas I change the distributor cap distributor thing that's underneath that spark plugs fuel pump the mechanical fuel pump...could it be the carburetor or did I mess it up by putting an electric pump in ??

What do I do about my lights flickering ?
I tried the wirebrush treatment on the ground wire to no avail. When I started the car I let it run for about 5 minutes before I noticed the idle going up and down. Not to the point of stalling and not excessively high either, but noticeable. I heard a kind of howling sound from the area of the alternator. I have had my battery and alternator checked since this light flickering and ECL started coming on. Where do I go from here?
