I have owned a 1985, 1988, 1989 & a 1993 Fox body GT. Every one has been trouble free! The 302 HO engines are bullet proof! They take a licken & keep on ticken! The 5 SP manual is a tough unit! Every one of them LOVED power shifting! I could hard shift by banging the gears using the accelerator pedal instead of the clutch pedal! I am looking for another 85-86 GT as I like the LX look of the GT & still have the FI engine! |

For Better Or Worse, Its My Car! — My Mustang has a built 302 in it and is falling apart. not much else to say. The interior is in shambles, I got it as a gift and it's most definitely a fixer upper. I'll get it to where I want it some day, until then it's going to be my project car. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: It's a fast car! Cons: Un-reliable and gas hog!!! |

Mustang Gt — I am the second owner of this vehicle and owned it since August of 1997. When I purchased, the car had 77K. It now has 101K There are several upgrades I have done, however new plans have been made for 2014. Brake, transmission, motor upgrades to be completed through the winter. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Great handling, lots of power, great looks if your a fox body fan, easy to modify Cons: None unless you are not a stick shift driver. |

A Classic — This was a great car in it's day and with some TLC it can be again. Love the fact it has a large trunk and a back seat. Love the fact it's economical and it is a convertible. I love convertibles! =)) Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: An original. Easy Restore but works well as is. Parts are easy to find. Cons: This car should be restored. It does have it's flaws that can easily be fixed. For example, the top does need to be replaced. The nice thing is there is a new top in the trunk for someone to replace the old one with. |

For A Car Enthusiast. — Good for the price. Used 5.0's are going for 800-2000 bucks in the wintertime. It's fun! Parts are cheap for Ford 302's and peformance parts are everywhere. There is not one thing that you can't buy for this car, unlike a Ford SHO, where most of the SHO specific parts are discontinued and you can't find aftermarket. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: It's a 5.0 Mustang, what not to like? nothing! Cons: It's kind of a pig on gas if you drive it through the city all the time, but gets good hwy MPG 20+ |

Fun To Drive And Reliable. — Fun to drive and reliable. - My monster is a 5- speed convertible. Under 1,000 GT stick convertibles built in '86. This is my second '86, the first lives in Costa Rica now. Acceleration aw sum, usual rattles, good eye appeal. 14 MPG in town. Drove it 2,000 miles the first week owned two months ago, performed flawlessly. A very fun car to drive. Would highly recommend Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Fast Fun Cons: If you have kids, don't let them near it. |

I Thought The Car Was Really Fun An Really Fast — the 86 mustang lx is a fast car, not very good looking i perfer the 90-93 but still very fast. the worst thing i can say about the car it that it does not handle good in rain or snow. the car it self picked up speed fast an stopped on a dime (as long as the road was dry) the interior was very plain an clothe material but due to its age it was built like a tank for a 24 year old car it didnt have much rust or noises an didnt need alot of work to stay running. over all a super fun car to drive hard in or just cruse with friends Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: its mustang c'mon Cons: its small so it holds like 3 people comfotably, an doesnt handle well in really wet weather or snow |

Pride Of The American Sports Car — Awesome Car, has the 5.0 Engine. After all these years still starts up like a rocket. 0-60 5.62 seconds. The LX Convertible, not a care in the world when driving that car. lol. One of the last 5.0 untill the 2011 line Pros: Its a mustang, and its the 5.0 Cons: None what so ever |
