Helping locate the problem
So i have a 87 c10 and it misfires in idle. It also shuts off as i come to a stop,slow down,or accelerate from a stop. Anyone know whats the problem(s)?

Previous owner kept this truck in amazing condition, $1250 and needs about $250 in parts. Its a GM can't ask for better quality. Going to add the dual headlight grill, replace the rear view mirror with one that has the map lights. Bucket seats are in the near future.Jan 05, 2013

It's actually a Chevy Wrangler 1/2 ton. The motor is a 350ci 4barrel from a Camaro with a cam, bottles and cutouts. Its got a Turbo400 tranny and 3/4 rear springs and shocks, which give it a sweet muscle car stance.Apr 17, 2011

its a mean green machine lol, 305 with a four bbl, headman headers, 3 inch in 3 out stainless magnaflow mufflers and kicks out at the sides, fun truck. Did all work myself, cost me a 1995 neon and 2 cords of wood lol. its a few trucks put together. fun to drive, get plenty of looks.Apr 05, 2011

I loved everything about this truck. It was a sweet nice old truck with dual exhaust blue led interior light. It was good on fuel and like next to nothing rust. Just the usual chevy rust thats about it. Perfect oldieDec 26, 2010

sbc 306 engine making approx 425 horse 373 posi it moves... braking needs to be upgraded since its manual brakes, a few dents and dings and a little rust , gas mileage is roughly 10-11 mpg, hell yeah its fun to drive Nov 24, 2010

Bought htis truck at age 15 which i still am and the truck in is show truck condition which is the best and its 100 percent original. I paid 4000 for the truck and i am the proud second owner and never willing to part with this truck its my first and always last truck.Sep 07, 2010

build quality- looks like a shiny brick
appearance- some thing to be desired
cost of owner ship- basic maintanance plenty of space to work under the hood milage around 14 mpg

this is a great truck easy to work on great performance cheap parts easy to work with. very cheap truck to own but bad gas. not so fun to drive real basic 2wd so no mud. just a dump truck or camping truck really.Feb 28, 2010

I wanted one of these since I was a teenager in the 80s. Finally picked one up about five years ago. Just enjoyed it til this year, and am now restoring it. I LOVE this truck! Yeah, I feel the bumps, but it's also powerful with the 350 dropped in. No other truck looks like this. It had great performance all around for a full size SUV, the only bad thing is the Engine blew.....l Replaced the 305 with a 350, and i need 2 new tires for it. But other than that its a great truck for 750!Nov 20, 2009

The best first vehicle I've had. Performance is quite bad,
but the sound is incredible. It was well built on a sturdy
frame, had great appearance and people tried to buy it off
because it looked incredible. Had new 10" wide tires that

Good performance. Not much rust no major body damage. No paint on drivers side. dark blue. minor interior issues. needs new upholstry new dash and new dials. gets anywher from nine to fourteen MPG not many maintenance issues. Good truck.Mar 28, 2009

4x4 works great... it has decent power.. a very strong motor. they need more ground clearance though. lots of room in the interior compared to the newer chevys. they are very easy to find parts for you canfind parts almost anywhere.Jan 23, 2009

My play toy. Removed stock 305 and replaced with 383 stroker, freshly rebuilt 700r4. True duels with long tube headers and catalytic converters. I have to comply with VA/US emission regulations until she turns antique. Everything else is stock (for now).
Engine has oodles of torque. Now that I have her running the way I want I can start to play with the creature comforts. I plan on putting a half decent stereo in, replacing the single head lights with dual headlights (up and down not side to side), a train horn, air bags in the rear too help with large loads, installing a hitch and maybe a fifth wheel or goose neck.Jan 05, 2009

The only thing going wrong for the truck is the 305 in her...She may only have 49k on her but she is week...must fix her for more power.need more power.
New tires, 31"x12.5"x15" , Hercules.
New shocks all around, Monro
New spark plugs, AC Delco

Performance -it has good acceleration, braking, handling
Build Quality -it has a good strong fram and is in good solid shape
Appearance -has a litle rust but not that much
Cost of Ownership -it cost me 1300

its a great looking great running truck. easy to work on and cheap to fix! pretty loud hooker comp long tube headers and a b&m transpack knn filter and total msd ignition hits a pretty hard lick! love the truck and just convinced my friend to get a 85 just like mine!Jul 26, 2008

I really miss driving this truck. All 4 corners leaf sprung, felt every
bump in the road, and I loved it. 31 inch tires on stock suspension,
4WD Low gear will just about move anything, or break the tow strap
(twice).
No fancy electronics, and it started everytime all winter long.
At 9 mpg, and working 30 miles away... it's a pirch for birds and place

let me start out by saying that this truck has been in the family since 1985 when it was purchased off the showroom floor and i'll be buried in it before i get rid of it. it was purchased a month to the day before my dad was hired as a chrysler employee. which explains my thing for mopars, so this is the long outsider in the family. i learned to drive in this truck and inheritaded it soon after. it's fairly stock with only a set of nobby tires and a straight pipe. it's got an electric fuel system now too, but thats another long story. only 90K original miles. it's in great shape for being 22 years old. i'm not sure what all Chevrolet intended this truck to do in stock form...but i've got more stories about hill climbs, roundabout drifts, and even a few law evasions than ever intended. 1986 Chev C10 intermittently starts. Could this be the ignition switch
1986 Chev C10 will start several days in a row but then will not start for several days. When it doesn't start it will turn over but does not have any fire. The coil was replaced but still have the same problem of intermittently starting. Could this be the ignition switch?

1986 chevy farm truck with 350 engine doesn't like hot weather.
Truck runs pretty good in cool weather. Has trouble when the weather gets warm. Acts like the fuel has been cut off while driving. Loses power but doesn't typically die.
