Truck is very very nice offroad. I bought it for a grand, It requires hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in DIY repairs (to a well trained mechanic) Rusts very fast, but very workable. Almost/ if not all parts very common, cheap.Apr 09, 2015

Gutless 305. A 350 would be better. The body on these truck rust out and the look
is old. This truck never gets stuck and hauls whatever I need. The brakes are
awesome and its fun in the winter. It never gets stuck and handles well in the snow

it is a very good truck easy to fix the performance is good easy to upgrade it has needed repairs and still does but still reliable it is very fun to drive the body is shot on it so is the seat but nothing i cant fix Dec 01, 2011

I love this truck, the performance was great and it handled well for a big truck with a rake. Mine had a bad outer body but thats what made it fun, it was almost a rat rod truck. It was crazy fun to drive and totally worth the $800. I got really lucky on this one only to have to pull motor for my s10 then leave at my old house after i left :(Nov 02, 2011

In truck i have had about 13 motors i have had anything from a 305 clear up to a 400 the 305 motors were just slappin get it back on the road motors the 400 was a fast little monster the truck was built pretty tough i wrecked it in high school a about a buck thirty an i walked away with out a scrach the driver side seat has kinda fallen apart an the appearance has gone by the way side because of the wreck but other than that i love this truck an wont ever sell it Nov 01, 2011

It has a lot of torque, it has a lot of work to be done to it. It's rough looking, but that's expected of a 1984. And yes it's fun as hell to drive. Sucks on gas. And needs work.Oct 29, 2011

Lifted 6 inches on 37 inch mudders. Has front and rear lockers. 4.11 gears. Built 355 Small Block Chevy with a built 700R4 behind it. Awesome in the snow and amazing in the mud. Best truck I've ever owned by far.Jan 13, 2011

I bought it with a blown 305 in it. and i put a rebuilt 350, rebuilt transmission and new rear end in it. i have fog lights and a brush guard off a newer Chevy. It doesn't quite fit but i'm looking at a replacement guard.Mar 18, 2010

It is still under construction; new, body, paint, motor, tranny, suspesion, interior, basically a complete rebuild. the motor will be somewhat better than stock. the body will be stock. the paint and interior are still undecided. hoping to make a nice show truck.Jan 18, 2010

nothing like a lifted 4x4 chev only had a 305 but loud pipes helped it needed work but i fixed it from former owner the truck looked great but very low gas mileage from big tires defentaly cant beat a full size chev in the trailAug 15, 2009

This is my current daily driver. I sold my '02 S10 ZR2 to get out of debt and bought this good old chevy pickup for $1000. It has a 350 crate motor with 50k miles on it, a 700R4 trans, and a 3.73 10 bolt rear end. It actually gets decent mileage for an old truck and its reliable as can be.Jul 31, 2009

its a badass i bult it up with new motor , new transmission and new rear end. i've recently done some racing and ramped this hill causeing my right front bearing to go out and on top of that i drifted around a corner right after i ramped it and cause of so much torque goin to the right rear i broke off that shock. but before that i made it stand up and do a wheelie in walmart parkin lot. yeah its a bad ass.Jul 23, 2009

Mine was an 84 scotts dale so it wasnt so great. Pluss it needed paint and was a straight 6 3 speed on the column. Small gears and with th right gear it would pull hard. Wasnt bad for a second car.May 14, 2009

No it doesnt ride like a cadillac its a true truck solid axle full leaf spring set up runs great but im working on bullet proofing it with all 1 ton running gear and much more horse power you can never have enough its alot easier to work on than newer cars theres space to get to things and see what your doing and gotta love the small blocks every one and there brother has parts for them and there usaully cheap it deffinitly needs a ring and pinion swap 3.08's dont mix with big tires pretty much gutless except when it rains overall i love itDec 24, 2008

the performance of this truck is pretty good for its
size, acceleration is no sports car but its fairly quick
for a really big pickup truck, the brake system in
the truck is an excellent set up with drum brakes in
the rear and disc in the front, no abs, handling is
alright dont expect nice turning radius or anything.
these trucks are built very strong and can handle a
lot of abuse, however my 700 r 4 transmission did
go on me so i put a turbo 400 in, other than that i
have given it a tune up, plugs, wires, the works,
and a brand new edelbrock performance 4 barrel
carb, gas milage is okay for this size truck it gets
about 10 mpg around town 13-14 on highway , but
overall if you love loud gas guzzling trucks these

'84 C10 (2wd), Reg cab, Long Bed, 350 SB, 700-R4, American Racing Outlaw II wrapped in Bridgestone shoes.
It was originally my father's truck, which got handed down to me when I turned 16 =). The truck hasn't been driven for a number of years now and is in the process of being torn down and rebuilt. A 412 BB is going in along with a TH-350 and a set of 3.73's out back mated to an Eaton locker. I want the truck to be my show/weekend truck when I'm finishedMay 14, 2008

I have a 1984 chevy k10 with a 305. I just bought a newly reman quadrajet 4bbl. Idles rough when put into gear.
So I put this reman quadrajet 4bbl on my 305. I can get it to idle good in park but as soon as it goes in gear, it runs rough. So I adjusted the fast idle up to compensate but now when i cut the truck off, it will diesel on me. I checked my vacuum hoses and they are good and connected correctly. What am i missing here?
