There are no blind spots, which is one of my favorite things about it. You can see everything in the mirrors and just by looking. It's comfortable to drive, but you really can't take more than 1 person comfortably, but I've sat 4 on the bench and a few times even someone in the bed. There are some dings and scratches in the paint, as would be expected with this old of a car. Almost all (we had a mishap on the hood while replacing wipers, which are now brand new btw) were put on before I had it. It's not the fastest car, but I didn't have a problem merging with traffic or anything. Brakes work well, but I haven't done them so it could be good. Handles about average for it, I can make a u-turn in my neighborhood while only using 1 sidewalk. My new audi uses neither, a dodge ram 2500 uses both. It feels safe, it's a solid well built truck. built like a tank cause well its all sheet metal
apperace is very classic square body truck
not great gas mileage but that's not what you buy it for

Has 75k miles on a 350. Mainly just inside work for now. I'm shopping around for a lowering kit for it and hoping to find a BBC soon. The inside is all rapped in black fabric with checkered inserts. Other then that its all stock. It looks lowered but that's just how it sits.Feb 26, 2012

Fun old truck. Was pretty worn out and tired, but still a blast to cruise around in. Sounded good once the 4 barrel opened up. 350 crate motor, aluminum intake, long tube headers, etc... only downside is that it had something like 2.88 factory gears which made it an absolute turd. could do some awesome brake stands though since the rear brakes were shot hahaMay 13, 2010

performance wise the K10 is amazing with the small block chevy 350 the braking isnt the greatest but you get stopped and thats what counts. build quality is amazing you cant find a better set up on a half ton. the appearance is mean. if you buy a 85 now its going to cost you some money but its worth every penny. the fun factor is off the scale its a great pull or mud truck they love the off road with the solid ridgid axlesNov 10, 2009

very dependable, worked this truck very hard and it held up wonderfully. performance was pretty good considering it only had a 305 under the hood, i was a little displeased with the gas mileage, for the small v8 i thought i would have gotten more. it was a blast to take off road, but not taking corners, but hey its a truck not a sports car. the inside was a little bland, the outside had good looking lines, but the paint choice on mine was horrid, three different colors of brown, puke!Oct 31, 2009

It's an old chevy truck. No check engine light, no computer screwing up, no fuel injection getting messed up by uor crappy gas. And no fuel pump in the gas tank to replace right after you fill up. The end.Oct 04, 2009

Big truck to get through the snow in Colorado. The truck worked well for the most part. The gas mileage was not good, but we had an extra tank. Switching to it was not the easiest, but it could be done while moving.
The four wheel drive was sort of funky. You could not always tell if you were in 4x4 and it seemed to have a mind of its own.Sep 25, 2009

Love the truck. Cant beat an 80's Chevy, they're very tough trucks and they dont build them like that anymore. It is an old truck however so it does break down from time to time but these trucks were built primarily from '73-'87 so parts are available everywhere and are usually pretty cheap and easy to install yourself. My truck has seen its share of rough weather and jeep trails but has yet to leave me stranded.Aug 31, 2009

It's my first car and I love it. There was alot done to it before I got it so i'm not sure how the stock ones are. But mine's got a Camaro IROC-Z 350ci engine so it's got tons of power and gets pretty good gas milage. It was restored a few years back so nothing's broken yet. It has a 4'' lift and because of that it rides like a brick especially on bumpy roads. But i'm definatly never gonna sell it and I love it a bunch.Jan 28, 2009

This was my very first vehicle. I got it when I was a Freshman in high school. It has a 350 V8 right now but I plan on putting a big block in it some day. This truck gets around good and is great for off roading. It has limited slip front and rear differentials which are awesome. It is pretty sweet looking and I love driving itSep 03, 2008

i love this truck i have never had any serious problems with it and it has over 160k on it. i use it for everything the only sad thing is is that utah has crappy emissions and it failed safety cuz of a cracked window and a roll pan instead of the bumper.Jul 04, 2008

Should I buy this truck
I have a question for all you truck smart people. I'm looking to buy a 1985 Chevrolet c10. It's in pretty good condition but the guy said that there is something wrong with the carburetor but he's not sure what it is. It has a new PCV valve, new ignition, new distributor cap and rotor, new air filter, and new plugs and wires. Do any of you know potentially know what could be wrong with the carb and how much it could be to fix. Also if its worth buying the truck.

I was driving my 85 c10 for about thirty minutes then it just shut off and would not restart for 2 hours. When I tried to restart it would turn over and not kick over.

driveshaft or transmission?
Okay so I have an 85 c10 Silverado long bed that has around 178k miles. Its a 5.0 350 engine and had a 700r4 tranny. The tranny I just took out was a 700r4 and I replaced it with the th350 that was almost new with no problems. I checked and made sure everything was connected and tightened correctly but I used the 700r4 driveshaft instead of the one the th350 had on it and I finished everything today and just put fresh fluid into it and a full tank of gas and when I put it into reverse I have to rev it really hard for it to even start reversing then it moves extremely slow and I can hear and see that all the gears are shifting correctly and the driveshaft moves in neutral but when I put it in reverse it doesn't spin. any suggestions should I replace the driveshaft with the transmissions original driveshaft?
