The Beast. — I bought this unit because I needed a daily driver and all my friends had ATV's, which I could not afford. I used it as my road legal quad with a windshield and heat on those cold days. Got my bike after the truck. Other than a minor head gasket leak that started after I bought it, it was a decent truck and performed it's duties as required. She was destroyed during one night of fun when the head gasket leak got to bad to use it every day. Went offroading until it wouldn't move. The frame and body were to rusted the truck was not worth fixing. The powertrain can be rebuild and used elsewhere.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good old chevy.  Bought for $1600.00 with the 35" tires and two spares. 350 4spd with a 205.

Cons: 308,000 kms. Lots of rust.

Got To Love It — great hot rod truck, easy to find parts, low cost replacement parts, fuel economy? for get about it... lol fun project truck finding one with a manual transmission is a plus or just do a conversion Tremec has some nice tranny choices. Also ealier models are smog exempt so you can had dual exhaust and header with no worries

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: If you can find one with a manual transmission, buy it

Cons: Upgrade to the brakes... PLEASE ! Or you'll be doing a 180 degree turn on the freeway the first time you accidentally lock up the brakes when stopping fast.

Runs Great, Gets Crappy Gas Mileage But O Well Its A Beast — The performance is top notch for something this old, although its primarily stock there are a few things different that have been done to it. Braking is alright it would be better if it had disc brakes on it. I havent had to many problems with it, it has only needed minor maintenance

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Its a CHEVY and runs like a champ

Cons: if you don't know how to drive a truck don't get one

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Nothing — This truck is fun to drive and take to care shows. The truck gets around 6 miles to the gallon on average. My truck runs pretty good for having a 406 small block chevy motor in it. It is pearl white with 33x12.50x16 with a 4 inch rancho lift.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: My dad and I built it from the ground up.

Cons: nothing

It Is Durable, Long Lasting, Strong, And Dependable — I have a black '77 chevy half ton short whlbse sittin on one ton runnin gear with 4:56:1 gears, 4spd granny low, a solid sbb 350 with cam and headers. I'm runnin 38 1/2 by 15s under a 3 inch body lift. If your lookin for a truck to go off roadin in, these model trucks are the best. Durable, stout, tough, long lasting etc. I doubt you can find one thats show room quality but if you can find one in descent condition, you found a diamond in the rough. vehicles arent tough like they used to be. i have a 01 z71, and u know those are practically nothin but fiberglass. honestly, i feel safer in that old 77 than i do in my z. but not only are they tough, their easy and cheap to repair! And with those low gears, i get about the same gas mileage in it as my z gets. One last thing, the truck itself has over 475K miles on it. Chevy- Like a Rock!

Pros: Refer to Review Title

Cons: Burns a little oil

The Tank — Its an awesome truck. That weighs 4500 pounds with me in it. I weighed it at a truck scale. Its solid and is cheap to repair when something breaks.

Pros: V8, Made of Metal, No Computer controlling my engine

Cons: 2WD, The Price of Gas
