The 1970 Ford Mustang had several changes from the 1969 model. Changes included the return to two headlights, instead of the four featured in the '69, and the rear end got a bit of a butt lift, creating smoother lines for the American classic.
A popular Boss package, complete with whitewalls, was available in 1970. Along with the CJ 428 and SCJ 428, the line made for a great selection of powerful engines.
While there were major changes in the base models, if you were in the market for a 1970 Ford Mustang Shelby, the car you bought was probably made with the rest of the 1969s. Shelby had to push several of his cars from 1969 into the 1970 line due to an anticipated federally mandated push to make muscle cars more gas efficient and emissions careful.

Without a doubt, the 1969/1970 era of Mach I and Boss's will never be seen, nor matched again. This Pony stays in my garage and will be an even rarer breed in years to come. I'll let my four boys sort it out when I'm gone!
October 8, 2014really fast in a straightline .70's oversensitive power steering not cool when agressively going through the gears. gas mileage not a consideration. the cars function is to look and sound great while launching from one stop light to the next. which is does great. factory rated @ 290 Hp was low and engine redlines @ 8000rpms
October 20, 2009The Mach has a ford 347 stroker with a 6 speed gear vendors overdrive. The paint is ford ultra blue and it has black leather interior. The car doesnt just look good though. it sounds amazing and is a blast to drive!

October 9, 2009best car i ever had, easy maintnace, just not a family car when you have a newborn, handled easily, not the best gas milage but not bad either. Love to take it for sunday afternoon drives through the country back roads
August 30, 2009One of my favorite cars of all time, i never get tired of them! The car's acceleration is pretty good for an old car, and the 302 in it is a pretty reliable engine.

September 15, 2020What can i say if you like the smell of exhaust the rumble of a cleveland and the push into the seat you get when you step on the peddle ... then this car is for you ....not to mention the joy of washing it on a cool summers night ... then out for a quick rip!!
June 7, 2010So my dad and I bought this 1970 Mustang and it is awesome. It came with a small block V-8 and Bridgestone racing tires.
July 1, 2008This Car Was As Close To Perfect As I Have Ever Driven... It Had Amazing Handling, Awesome Power, And A Sound That Would Easily Make A Grown Man Cry. I Loved It... Sadly I Do Not Own It For It Is My Uncles, I Will Never Get It But I Can Always Ask To Drive It Over And Over Again
March 30, 2008totally amazing rust free special edtion boss 302 coupe (not fastback).repainted in accopulco blue and now runs a windsor 351,fmx gear box,elenor 18"rims.it was imported in to australia earlly 2008 i brought it july 2008 for $19000.the interior is all black (boss trim).due to aussie laws the wing mirror has been replaced with two matching standard mustang mirrors as the second matching boss type was to hard to find at the time.
