The 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was the first-ever model of what Chevy called its "luxury personal performance car." The Monte Carlo was created to be a thing of beauty: the elongated hood increased the crisp lines of the automobile, and the near-as-long trunk provided ample cargo room.
The inside was nice as well, with seats designed to be soft and luxurious. The knobs and dials throughout the dash gave a pit-like feel to the interior.
The most popular version of the car today is, of course, also the rarest. Only 3823 SS 454s were produced with their highly advanced leveling control system and softer shocks.
I purchased this off original owner a few weeks ago. Shadow gray, black vinyl top and that small block 400. All stock. The 400 has steam holes and it is a pain in the butt, so I decided to go with a 350 4 bolt main and pump it up nicely. Any reason I should not? Just checking. Thanks,

I am thinking about buying a 1970 monte carlo. I looked at it closely and it does need a lot of work but my main concern is if it is a unibody or a frame car. I thought that it was a frame but when i took a closer look at the rear quater panels they looked connected to the roof. That is my question to you guys.
I bought it as a roller solid frame no rust on it, solid trunk, redid everything firewall forward. All people can say is wow when i pop the hood it is so clean! 4 bolt main 350 cubic inch engine with lots of edelbrock upgrades and lots of chrome, new th350 transmission, new fender wells, new wiper motor (it has the stealth hidden wipers), new drive shaft, new bumper and new core support, chrome grill, new wire harness, new brakes, ext... Like I said everything firewall forward is new or mint OEM parts from a local monte that was being parted. Bucked seats, duel antennas, rear air bagged suspension, needs minimal body work and paint. But turns heads as it is. Is my daily driver! So super reliable strong engine. Drive it minimum of 55 miles a day mostly interstate. Can be cruising 90mph hit the gas and it will lift the front end (wheels still on ground obviously) and throw you back in your seat.
