Best Money I Have Spent To Date — Do not buy unless you like noises, squeaks, and bangs cause you will hear a lot of them. Wind goes through the windows making it challenging in the winter. You can hit something going 30 and not have to total the vehicle out as everything is metal, fender skirts, battery tray, dash board, etc. Only a few plastic parts which is opposite of today's modern vehicles. Not to say this makes them safer by any means just tough. All naturally aspirated with manual clutch & choke. Anybody can work on these things they are easier to work on than modern push mowers.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It looks cool and haul a ton of stuff home.

Cons: Rides like a tank and smells like one too.

The Best Truck Chevy Come Out With — Its got a solid 3 speed trans with granny low it can go just about any were, braking make shure u pump these brakes its got all four drum brakes. It handles like a dream considering no power steering. The build quality is great its still here isnt it. of corse you are going to have squeeks and rattles but if theres nothing wrong with it . Ive got to say the best looking truck chevy come out with my favorite is these trucks were desined not only to be a work horse but a cruser its got all four coil springs the same set up thats in a 1993 chevy cavalir. it depends on the gas milege on the motor if your going to drive a v8 your going to pay v8 gas prices. this truck is the funist to drive its like a blast from the past.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I love this truck it's apart of the family.

Cons: If your weak you probly could not steer it all that well. The brakes take longer to stop

Loved The 68 C10 — I thought this color was great. Put some mudgrips on it to combat that Moffett mud. Got stuck a lot more times in this than the old Pinto. Had my first real date in this truck. Never bothered with much of a stereo. Had a Kraco with some crap-ass speakers. But I jammed to Boston and Led Zeppelin none the less. Until the stereo was stolen while parked behind Lufkin High School one night when we were gone on an out-of-town baseball game. Damn thieves!!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Looked and sounded great!

Cons: Hang up in 2nd gear with the old colum shifter.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: fun to drive

Cons: it has dings and dents and is rusting in some spots

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: the color, sounds amazing, fun to drive

Cons: it likes to drink fuel.

1st Truck — This was my first pickup and second vehicle overall. Nice 283 cubic-inch block with 307 heads. 3-speed transmission with column shifter. Glass packs and white spoke wagon wheel rims. Big mudgrips on the back. Not nearly the mudhogger that the Pinto was, though. Had my first date in this truck. Had a nice stereo until it was stolen because the doors wouldn't lock...argh.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Stereo and motor

Cons: Lack of stereo (after it was stolen)

Great Classic Truck — This was a great truck, I really enjoyed it. It really didn't have much power with the 250 cu in 6cyl and 3 on the tree trans, but I had absolutely no issues with it overall. I would advise a v8 and auto trans though

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: classic

Cons: none

I could drone on about this truck for hours. With a couple of sway bars and a set of lowering springs it handles like a go cart. The aftermarket for the V8 engines is virtually endless and you can build them cheap. I only have about $1,500 in mine and it makes about 300 to the rear wheels. I may not win a drag race but I have daily driven this truck for 4 years now with no complaints (except a transmission being ripped out but that was my fault....)

Power Ranked 1986 Dodge RAM 150 Short Bed 4WD worse.
"In 1986 all the trucks were choked off by emission equipment, Im sure if that was removed they would be about equal in power."
Handling Ranked 1986 Dodge RAM 150 Short Bed 4WD worse.
"I prefer manual steering over the power steering of that era, I hate not being able to somewhat feel the road."
Front Seats Ranked 1986 Dodge RAM 150 Short Bed 4WD worse.
"My first drive in the dodge I went around a tight left hand curve and ended up in the middle seat, seat belt still on. This problem can be easily fixed with a seat cover but it still scared me to death."
Front Seats Ranked 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT3 Crew Cab 4WD better.
"I know a lot of people hate chevrolet interior and I can understand why, the leather does feel somewhat cheap and everything is plastic but that is still the most comfortable seat Ive ever set in."
Back Seats Ranked 1986 Dodge RAM 150 Short Bed 4WD better.
"Lets be honest neither of them have back seats."
Back Seats Ranked 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT3 Crew Cab 4WD better.
"The fact that it has back seats helps a lot. But in all seriousness the back seats are great and actually comfortable for three adults"
Cargo Capacity Ranked 1986 Dodge RAM 150 Short Bed 4WD better.
"The dodge has leaf springs as apposed to the chevrolets coil springs so it is capable of hauling more"
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT3 Crew Cab 4WD better.
"The crew cab gives you a lot more room of dry, lockable storage "
Family Car Ranked 1986 Dodge RAM 150 Short Bed 4WD better.
"Unless you have a family of three neither of them make good family cars but since the dodge has 4wd it is more versatile."
Family Car Ranked 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT3 Crew Cab 4WD better.
"You can ride this truck to work all year and when it comes time for family vacation everyone can ride comfortably for hours"
Value Ranked 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT3 Crew Cab 4WD worse.
"If snow wasnt an issue the C10 is cheaper and will get the same job done unless you are going off roading"
