1966 Ford MustangReview

I love the early years Mustangs but never was a fan of the fastback. I think it fair to say, the 1964-65-66 is my all time favorite vehicle with the convertible at the absolute top. I gave this a 3.5 also because I have no feel for the shape or condition the vehicle is in. Undoubtedly this car may very well get ratings of 4 and 5 from many, however, fir me, who unconditionally love the Mustangs of the 60s this is the best I can do. |

1966 Ford Mustang — Owned the car for the last 21 years.Rebuilt engine, transmission, interior, suspension, steering, air-conditioner, cooling system, drivetrain, trunk, exterior chrome, brake system - too many new parts to list. With newer style radial tires it drives and handles better than new -very tight steering and road feel. Pros: Classic, collectible, fun to drive, parts are inexpensive, easy to work on Cons: Noisy...it's a 1966 model! |

I Love My Car It's A Dream Come True — The thing I liked about this car is that it's a head turner and a comfortable ride for the age of the car and the thing I dislike about it is that it's missing that roar of a muscle car. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: All original car and beautiful condition Cons: Not enough power even though the 200ci is a real work horse |

My Caroline — This is my summer/fall weekend car I love everything about her. Its not the fastest but I don't care I love to just cruise to some oldies and escape into my time capsule. I love the feel and ride of a classic car if you want all the amenities and up to date gadgets this is not the car for you. It has power drum brakes and manual steering that's all I need I'm not picky. not much room but like I said with the windows down radio blasting who cares! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
Pros:
manual trans
Cons:
gets attention |

1966 Mustang A Trip Back In Time And A Reminder Of What We Do Well Now — The Mustang is stable and steady on the road, it just huuummms along. Easy to set back and enjoy the drive. Not a car you get in a hurry to get anywhere in. But a pleasing experience. Driver coupes can be had well under $10,000 and fastbacks will start around that number. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Fun car to drive that always gets questions about it's history, power ect. Parts are available at most local auto part stores and are inexpensive. Nice to travel back in time when switch gear is metal instead of plastic, and v8s rules the roads Cons: Not very safe by today's standards. Non fuel injected cars are not for everyone, Fuel economy will not match the same size car built today. Modern advances in A.C., defrost, Sound systems, seat design will not be a fit for all. The same sound I love about a rumbling V8 some people do not want to hear. |

1966 Mustang Fastback — I like everything about this car! The looks, the sound, the feel, it's all exactly what I wanted out of an old muscle car. It's fun to cruise with my friends and it leaves me with something to play with on the weekends! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: It's a badass old school muscle car! Good power, good looks, and tons of fun to drive! Having an old Mustang practically leaves me with infinite options as far as customization and aftermarket parts. Cons: It isn't the most comfortable ride ever. But who needs comfort anyway!? |

My Ole 'stang — This has been my car since high school, and I've had the pleasure of driving it across the country as well as using it for an every day driver. It's stock (almost) with a 289 4V, 4 spd, and dual exhaust. It has been idle for a few years now waiting on new ball joints, and I plan to replace all of the bushings and rubber to improve the handling. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: It's a classic Mustang! Cons: You won't find any airbags in here. |
