My 1986 4cylinder Pontiac feiro accelerator kick down is not working I pushed the button to adjust the cable . I can't feel it accelerating any faster. So what's the reason for this help me please

I like Fieros- they are cool- but you bought a very old car with the 4-banger and an auto transmission- it may be the linkage, or the transaxle is going- but you will have to take it to a transmission shop and endure their derision while they try to figure out what is going on with your antique car- good luck- they are mechanically very complicated-
