The 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid builds on the practicality and cabin comfort of the CR-V and ups the ante with a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain. The Hybrid variant was added alongside the conventionally powered Honda CR-V in 2020. It carries over into 2022 largely unchanged. The CR-V Hybrid has slightly less cargo space than its non-hybrid counterpart. The Hybrid provides up to 67.8 cubic feet of cargo space and 33.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats (the non-hybrid provides 75.8 and 39.2, respectively).
Trims for the CR-V Hybrid are EX, EX-L, and Touring. The EX trim comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a power moonroof, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, first- and second-row USB ports, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX-L trim adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power liftgate, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The range-topping Touring trim includes features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, wireless device charging, a nine-speaker premium stereo system, navigation, and rear parking sensors.
The CR-V Hybrid features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with two electric motors to produce a combined 212 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission routes power from the engine to the front wheels, while one of the electric motors powers the rear wheels. It also features regenerative braking to capture energy from deceleration. Fuel economy for the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid is 40 mpg city, 35 highway, and 38 combined. The digital instrument panel features a power-flow monitor so that you can see how you are using the hybrid drivetrain and whether you are conserving or expending energy. The vehicle also features ECON, Sport, and full EV drive modes. In EV mode, it can go just about one mile using only the battery.
The CR-V Hybrid comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite of high-tech driver assistance features. This includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Front and rear parking sensors are available as optional features.
Base MSRP for the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid is $31,610 for the EX trim. The EX-L trim starts at $34,200, and the Touring trim starts at $37,400. The CR-V Hybrid is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
