My Titan smokes white smoke upon start up and uses oil. Mechanic changed the pcv valves, cleaned the head and valve covers and it still smokes. Compression check was fine.. He is now telling me that it must be a piston ring issue and it would be more cost effective to just buy a used engine or sell the truck. Any suggestions?

I was trying to install a radio in the truck but it did not fit so I reinstalled the stock radio but we forgot to attached the antenna cable and didn't realize until the screws sparked when we put them against the metal. We corrected that mistake but since then the truck gets stuck in park & we have to pump the brake pedal to be able to shift out of park. We changed all the fuses in the truck. Any recommendations before I shell out a mountain of cash would be great.
When I advertise a car on other sites about 2/3 of inquiries follow up wiith multiple questions. Now, on Cargurus I've only had 1 actual person respond. I'm pretty sure that all the rest are bots from CG to keep you hooked in. They other issue is that the site keeps changing one of the bits of info about my car and that misleads the potential buyer. This site is a complete waste of time and money.
I have no tail lights and no licence plate lights, everything else works. What do I do ? I've bought new relays under the dash, that didn't do anything. I bought new relays under the hood , that didn't help . I've ohm'd out some fuses and changed a few. Maybe it's these funny looking things? Where can I get these type and what are they called? Fusible link? I'm at my wits end, HELP ME?????
