Promising reliability and refinement, efficiency and enjoyment, and safety and sophistication, the 2007 Honda Accord remains one of the best midsize cars you can buy.
As faithfully as the sun rises and sets, Honda redesigns the popular Accord every five years. If you’re good with math, that means 2007 is the final year for the current version of the car. But that doesn’t mean you should skip it in favor of newer designs from competitors like Ford, Nissan, and Toyota.
Continuing in 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan body styles, the 2007 Honda Accord is offered in Value Package, LX, Special Edition, EX, EX-L, and Hybrid trim levels. Most Accords have a 4-cylinder engine, some have a V6 engine, and a few have a gas-electric hybrid powertrain.
As far as changes to the 2007 Accord go, the V6 engine is now offered with Special Edition trim. Otherwise, the car is the same as it was in 2006.

Honda took a dramatic turn with the Accord’s last redesign, for the 2003 model year. An update for 2006 added a completely restyled, and more conventional, rear-end design. To many eyes, the changes were for the better, and the 2007 Accord remains an appealing midsize car despite its age.
Climb aboard, and you’ll face a neatly organized dashboard. Simple white-on-black instrumentation is a model of clarity, the radio controls include large buttons and knobs, and the climate controls are arrayed in a logical horizontal row. Versions with navigation have a good-size display screen.
Furthermore, though the hard plastic that is common in the midsize car segment is on clear display, the Accord exudes quality and refinement for the class.

Most 2007 Honda Accord models have a 166-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. A 5-speed manual gearbox is also available. This engine provides decent acceleration and sewing-machine smoothness, and if you know how to row your own gears, the manual transmission is a true delight.
For greater power and acceleration, a 244-hp 3.0-liter V6 engine is available. Like the 4-cylinder, it also comes with a 5-speed automatic, though a 6-speed manual is available on select versions of the Accord. Creamy, effortless power is the V6 engine’s hallmark, but it comes at a cost in terms of price and efficiency.
Choose the Accord Hybrid and you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds. It uses a modified version of the V6 that employs cylinder-deactivation technology, and at stoplights, the engine shuts off to conserve gas. The Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid technology boosts power output to 253 hp, making the Hybrid the most powerful version of the Accord. It’s also the thriftiest with fuel. But it comes fully loaded with a commensurate price tag.
No matter which Accord you choose, the front and rear double-wishbone suspension design delivers an expertly-tuned balance between ride comfort and driving enjoyment. Not as outright fun to fling about as some competitors, the Accord’s silky dynamic refinement is worth the tradeoff. It sounds, feels, and drives like a more expensive vehicle.
However, drum rear brakes are standard with Value Package and LX trim, making the case for an upgrade to Special Edition trim at a minimum.

One of the roomiest cars in its class, the 2007 Honda Accord seats five people, though four will be more comfortable, especially in the Accord coupe.
Standard equipment includes air conditioning, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, and a CD player. Upgrades, depending on the trim level, can include leather upholstery, heated front seats, 8-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat, a power sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Honda provides plenty of storage space within the Accord’s cabin, and the huge covered bin forward of the transmission is especially helpful. Sedans hold more luggage in the trunk, which measures 14 cubic feet. The coupe’s trunk is 12.8 cubic feet. Hybrids can hold only 11.2 cubic feet due to the car’s battery pack.

Every 2007 Accord has a CD player, and both a CD changer and an MP3 player are available. For all of the advanced infotainment goodies, though, you’ll need to get the Accord EX-L, which has satellite radio, a premium sound system, and a DVD-based navigation system with voice-recognition technology and a good-sized display screen.
However, unlike Honda’s luxury brand, Acura, the Accord does not offer a wireless Bluetooth cell phone connection for hands-free calling capability.

In terms of safety equipment, every 2007 Honda Accord includes six airbags. They include dual frontal-impact, front and rear side-impact, and side curtain restraints. Stability control is also available, but only with the V6 engine.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Accord sedan gets a Good rating for moderate-overlap frontal impact and side-impact collision protection. However, the head restraints and seats do a Poor job of protecting occupants. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the Accord sedan an overall crash-test rating of 5 stars.

Prices for the 2007 Honda Accord range from $19,220 for the Value Package sedan to $31,685 for the Accord Hybrid. That’s a little more than the competition, but with its track record for reliability and resale value, an Accord is worth the extra expense.
Within the Accord lineup, though, which is the best bet? The Hybrid offers a compelling blend of power and efficiency (24 mpg city, 32 highway, 27 combined), but it comes only with EX-L trim and suffers a loss of trunk space. Plus, it commands a $1,690 premium over the EX-L Nav V6 and $4,840 over an equivalently outfitted EX-L Nav 4-cylinder.
Save money and get the V6 for its impressive performance, and you’ll travel three fewer miles on every gallon of gas (18/26/21) compared to the 4-cylinder.
Still, the standard 4-cylinder engine costs thousands less and delivers 21/31/25 when paired with the popular automatic transmission. It might not be quite as fast as the V6 or Hybrid, but from a cost-effectiveness standpoint, it can’t be beaten.

Favorite Honda Ive ever owned! And Ive owned 20+. This generations 4 cylinder is pretty much bullet proof. Timing chain is maintenance free, change the oil and you should be ready to take this thing 300k+ mi. MPG is great 28-30 in town, obviously better on the HWY. Along with the minimal upkeep this vehicle requires, one of the best looking, older Accords they made.

just shy of 94,000 miles, our one owner accord is still chugging along. car looks great for a 2007, and the paint quality is still that of a newer vehicle. the vehicle has slim lines, leaving minimal blind spots and an easy driving experience. the power drivers seat with lumbar support gives the proper about of knee and back support making for a comfortable commuter car. aside from regular maintenance, the car has been in the shop for a few unusual items, (master window switch, v-tech actuator, washer fluid motor) which didn't come at a cheap cost, and almost a little higher than most honda owners would probably expect. for a four cylinder, the car has good acceleration, tight handling, and a hefty breaking system, all making for an enjoyable driving experience with piece of mind.May 19, 2015

Most impressive is the fact that this vehicle has a lot of pep. The gas mileage is pretty good for a six cylinder and I especially like the heated seats in the winter. Handling is good and I have not had to do anything to it since I've had it. It is an extremely reliable vehicle. I previously had a mazda and the build quality of the Honda is solid and not flimsy. It is an economic and reliable vehicle to own. It is almost cost free maintenance. All you need to do is oil change and inspect overall condition of vehicle and drive. It is perfect for computing to work or for out of town trips. Great cabin space for its size and comfortable sitting.Oct 03, 2013

Bought this car used with ~44k miles and now have ~108k miles. Had to replace the timing belt last month (6cyl) and included the water pump. Other than this, normal oil changes and brake pads were the only other costs. Plan to hold onto this car and shoot for 200k miles.Jul 03, 2013

4 door styling is stodgy. No Nav but gps on my phone and good sense of direction so not needed. Dealers are a ripoff for service so I use independents service . Car is fun to drive, willndrive another 100K . need to do timing belt.

Beautiful car with excellent acceleration, handling, and braking. Gas mileage for combined city and highway has been 26+ mpg. Highway mileage has been 31+ mpg. Honda V-tec engine provides plenty of get up and go. A fun car to drive!Apr 20, 2011

have seen mileage as high as 34mpg going 75 on the interstate but since i drive in town its about 27 to 30

This is a GREAT family car. It definitely has great acceleration, braking and
handling. The quality of the build is great, we haven't had to replace
anything. The exterior appearance is pretty good, I do like the newer
styles better though. The interior is nice too. It also gets good mileage.
This car is really fun to drive too, especially since it has a standard

My Accord is a 2 door EX-L. It is fantastic.The big brakes stop soooo smoothly. The 3.0 V 6 is strong from 2K RPM to the red line with a big punch when V teching. The seats are comfortable. The tranny shifts smoothly and accurately and quickly. I did have to change to the new Honda MTF to stop a 3 gear synchronizer issue. I love the car and consistantly get 30 MPG at 80 on the freeways. Car starts off great. It's all downhill from there. Transmission slips after only 40K miles. Changed 2 actuators for the door in 2 years. Audio system shorted out in year 3. Overall, a pain in the neck. My next car will not be a honda.Mar 09, 2010

This a fantastic car to drive either short sprints or long journeys. Acceleration is very impressive and brakes work very well without being too clingy. It handles curves like my BWM. It's a beautiful car to look at and even better in style then the 2008-2010 models. Solid build.
The only issue I have is the basic stereo with 6 CD changer is poor in sound quality. Also, they need to shock resist the CD's better because it tends to skip when I hit bumps in the road.Nov 17, 2009

I absolutely love my car. Acceleration is off the chart for a mid-size with the V6 and manual 6-speed. It runs very strong while cruising easily holding it's speed on most hills. Car feels solid with no squeaks, grunts, clunks or other odd noises. Fuel mileage isn't as good as the 4 cylinder Accord but it's definately worth having the V6 if you want that extra power for passing/merging. Styling is great with little compromise inside and out. Most controls are within reach without having to lean forward (I'm 6' tall and have the seat all the way back).Aug 07, 2009

Great car...good power, could seriously give maxima a tough time. The Vtech engine kicks on really well and provides the power a 3.0 sedan needs. The car grips the road really well at high speeds. I have had this car for 10 moths now and loving every minute of it. I have driven some very quick cars over the years but this one is the most practical and best value of all of them. I have added the Honda fog lights and rear deck spoiler to my white Accord and it looks more sporty but subtle. I do like to see the faces of BMW and Lexus drivers in my rear veiw mirror.Jan 06, 2009

Looks are more on the classic side.
Interior isn't that rich as you'd expect from the price label.
Amazing engine & the automatic transmition kicks down perfectly.
Both transmition & handling r very much responsive & co-operates well enough to give you a joyfull ride!

Yes this vehicle looks boring on the outside (if you look at the 2008, it's a different story) but what lies within the sheet metal is a sporty, well-oiled machine. The 4-cylinder provides spirited yet frugal performance, especially with the crisp-shifting manual transmission. The seats are supportive (sport-bolstered) and all the controls seem to be placed perfectly and respond with firm feedback. Fit and finish is excellent, although the quality of the radio leaves something to be desired, especially in the higher trim levels. Add in Honda's renowned quality and resale value and you have an unbeatable long-term ride, as long as you don't mind blending into the crowd.Feb 11, 2008

Excellent car owned for nearly a year now, no problems. Good ride very little body roll, good accelration for a diesel the 2.2 performs brilliantly on the road, can be great on fuel, on a 300 mile round trip had 53mpg. but if you want it is nice and fast as well.Dec 27, 2007

My last car was an AWD Subaru 4 cylinder with 175 HP, which was a great car, safe, but not fun to drive. This car handles like a Subie but has twice the oomph. Have to watch the speedometer constantly or use the cruise control or you end up doing 90 instead of 65. I like the way every thing fits together so well--all your needs met. Seems like a much more expensive car. Seats are comfortable, and love the dual zone air conditioning.May 30, 2007

i have a 2007 accord ex 4 door. long story short i had the fateful master window switch fail. aka only the driver side window would work. i bought a new switch from the dealer due to unavailability from parts stores. installed the new switch and got the windows back but now my key fob doesn't work. trunk release doesn't work and remote door locks don't work. i have disconnected the battery hoping to reset the system with no luck. any ideas?
